I think it is idea whose time will come to be serious for a moment. We know precisely what critical resource depletion combined with climate change does to a civilization. The prospect of a new dark age where no recovery happens means? we may need to take the steering wheel away from the 'relgious' at all costs despite the prospect of a bad end. A few years of absolute decline may bring this into perspective.

I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. [...] I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me. - Richard Feynman

Been there, done that, got the medal.Crumple wrote:Only visit this thread if you are over 18 and willing to take the fight to the enemy. This is hoped to be a genuine discussion of the principles and practice of real militancy within the new atheist movement. It is not for woozies but it might be for you?
I offered, but OM2 got meh'd.
I'd like to watch, though.

We need someone to take care of logistics. Boring stuff, but critical to success. Napoleon realised that long ago, when he said: "An army travels on its stomach", but even he failed when the chain of supply broke in Moscow. His army basically starved to death. It is vital that someone finds a reliable source of babies.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould
