Vote counting - and watching coverage of vote counting - is a very Irish experience. I'll probably be up until 3am on Sunday morning waiting for the results of the 12th count from the back arse of nowhere.
In case you don't figure it out, we have a general election today.

US reporting on the Irish elections has been obtuse and recondite in the extreme. It's all "Fina Faille this" and "Foofaraw Fuckups that" with absolutely NO analysis or information whatever as to the political platforms of the various parties in the election, what they want, what they intend to do, what the last inhabitants did right or wrong, how they plan to fix what went wrong or anything. Are they conservative, liberal, socialist, Marxist, Communist, what?
Irish politics are as dense as neutronium outside of Ireland.
