I guess we don't have to worry about "religious right" closed mindedness here, then.

"Gallup's generic ballot for the week of Sept. 13-19 shows a 46% Democratic and 45% Republican split in registered voters' preferences for the midterm congressional elections. It is the second week out of the last three in which the two parties have been virtually tied."

Ignore those numbers: there's a big difference between registered voters and likely voters, especially in mid-term elections.

This guy expresses my thoughts on the Tea Party and the potential for GOP ruin in 2012 very nicely!

Gallup’s astonishing numbers and the Lake Superior congressional districts

Late yesterday, Gallup came out with new numbers on the generic ballot question—which party’s candidates would you vote for in the election for House of Representatives? Among registered voters Gallup shows Republicans ahead by 46%-42%, about as good a score as Republicans have ever had (and about as bad a score as Democrats have ever had) since Gallup started asking the question in 1942.
However, Gallup also shows the results for two different turnout models. Under its “high turnout model” Republicans lead 53%-40%. Under its “low turnout model” Republicans lead 56%-38%.
These two numbers, if translated into popular votes in the 435 congressional districts, suggest huge gains for Republicans and a Republican House majority the likes of which we have not seen since the election cycles of 1946 or even 1928. For months, people have been asking me if this year looks like ’94. My response is that the poll numbers suggest it looks like 1994, when Republicans gained 52 seats in a House of 435 seats. Or perhaps somewhat better for Republicans and worse for Democrats. The Gallup high turnout and low turnout numbers suggest it looks like 1894, when Republicans gained more than 100 seats in a House of approximately 350 seats.

If Republicans get in it'll be like bloody 1984.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Tonight we're gonna party like it's 1984. (Won't Christine O'Donnell tell me what a Wang Chung is?)

DAYTON, Minn. -- Vice President Joe Biden has told Democrats at a Minnesota fundraiser that he'll "strangle" members of the GOP who complain about the federal budget.

According to a pool report from Tuesday's event in Dayton, Biden was telling the crowd that Democrats know how to balance the budget. He said, "If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them."

That's one way to win the elections!

He’s flown 330,000 miles since taking office, the equivalent of circling the globe 13 times,
Nice carbon footprint! LOL
much of it campaigning for Democrats and telling anxious voters that the $814 billion stimulus measure is working. Vice President Joe Biden knows it’s a hard sell.
LOL - the Vice President's job is to campaign for the President, perpetually, while the President descries perpetual campaigns..... and, it's a hard sell, because it isn't working! That's why unemployment is still through the roof, and the stock market is being artificially propped up by the gov't printing money, and the housing market continuing to get worse, the debt increasing by unprecedented numbers, and the Fed floating the idea of impending inflation as somehow a "fix" to the economy!

With unemployment topping 9.5 percent for 14 straight months, Biden is having difficulty trumpeting the 3.3 million jobs created or saved by the White House’s economic stimulus.
Well, yeah, because "created or saved" is a bullshit, made-up-out-of-whole-cloth statistic that means exactly zip, zilch, nada.
“It’s just really hard to convince people that when there weren’t, up until the first of the year, when there weren’t net new jobs it’s awful hard to say, ‘It’s working,’” he said at the end of a three-state campaign swing Oct. 7-8 for four Democratic candidates in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Washington. “It’s counterintuitive.”
l Well, yes, because intuitively, it's not flippin' working, and to say it is working is, therefore, counterintuitive. While not extraordinarily adept at abstract thinking, the American people are fairly good at simple if-then statements.

Democrats are running AGAINST Obama's accomplishments, and bragging about voting with republicans 65% of the time! http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/ ... ml?showall

Barney Frank, of course, doesn't give a shit - he's still raking in the perks of being in Congress! Free private jet flights! Woo hoo!!! http://www.bostonherald.com/news/politi ... id=1288443

Obama says that he should have factored TAX CUTS into the "stimulus" plan, and that there IS NO SUCH THING AS A SHOVEL READY JOB!!!! http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010 ... -and-back/
