Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
Unless you're a fuckin' Muzzie.

Well...no...unless you are a member of a misogynistic, homophobic group that supports terrorism and accuses the US of being worse than Al Qaeta, like the Cordoba Initiative, one of whose goals is to get Sha'ria law spread throughout the "non-Muslim" world, and spread its message of intolerance and eliminate the separation of church and state. The last time I checked, our liberty of free speech includes the liberty to oppose folks like that.

Who, besides you, is using the term "fuckin' Muzzie?" Most everyone I hear talking about this is taking the position that a group stating that the US is worse than Al Qaeta and which seeks to impose Sha'ria law on non-Muslims, is looking to open a "cultural center" very near ground zero. When faced with sincere messages from people whose family members died horribly that day, rather than take a conciliatory tone of compromise and seek to place the "cultural center" in a more acceptable place, they seek to rub salt in wounds and say "fuck you, we'll build it here." Nobody is talking about ALL Muslims. We're talking about THESE Muslims.

And freedom of speech. Just as you would most likely not suggest that people can't come out and protest the construction of a KKK or Nazi facility in a particular location, I have no idea why you think it is anathema to liberty for people to exercise that liberty in protesting the Cordoba Initiative's uncaring and unfeeling effort, and its generally hateful messages.

I don't like Islam much either, but the greatness of America will be realised on the day the mosque is opened near Ground Zero. If it's on September 11th 2011, send along the mayor to shake their hand.
Fuck that. Then vote mayor Bloomberg out of office, and put line of picketers outside the "cultural center" to send the clear messages: "No Sha'ria" - "No Oppression of Women," "No Homophobia," and "No Oppression." And, "Stop Spreading Your Bullshit."
The greatness of America is in the strength of its people to stand against despotism and theocracy, and to be privately intolerant of intolerance. Yes, the fucking monstrous dickbags have the right to build their cultural center, but we too have the right to consider them monstrous dickbags and to express that view. Fuck them, and fuck their fucking cultural center. It is a scourge. I fucking hate Islam, and I want its influence stop - not by the power of the State - but by the power of free people standing up and stating "no! we do not accept your Sha'ria. One, two, three, four! We don't want your fucking religion!"
