Have a think. You tell me...why was the US attacked? Why the twin towers and the pentagon? What justification did AL QAETA have to attack the US?

Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Meeky, robots don't survive in the military. You don't know shit about the service but you are spouting off and it's just making you look ridiculous.Meekychuppet wrote:I realise that your whole military life you were told certain things about what you were doing but in reality you were like every other enrolled rating/officer/whatever. More specifically, what was their justification for attacking fucking civilians? Not that they didn't take adequate precautions to make sure that civilian casualties were prevented, but they intentionally targeted civilians.Coito ergo sum wrote:What justification did AL QAETA have to attack the US?sandinista wrote:yah, like the states were just innocent bystanders minding their own business when they were attacked.Gawdzilla wrote:Blame Abel, not Caine, eh. Fucking civilians.yourself. eh.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

It still is a crazy fantasy. It was only a few years ago that you had an attempted genocide, and a major war in Europe, and it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that Eastern Europe will erupt again.RuleBritannia wrote:100 years a peaceful Europe was a crazy fantasy.kiki5711 wrote:If it was possible it would have happened.Meekychuppet wrote:Doesn't matter. Same reason the US attacks civilians, to create terror and fear. You don't have to go into the whole "not intentionally targeting civilians line" because I don't buy it. Feel free to, of course, if you do, but I don't. They clearly have and continue to do so. Besides that, the attacks were obviously symbolic. I also wouldn't really call the pentagon attack a civilian target.

I didn't say you were a robot. I'm pretty sure abusing anyone who dares to question the actions of the military is ridiculous. I'm English though so at least you can't accuse me of treason. You've no doubt seen plenty and been exposed to the best and worst of humanity. My grandad was a Desert Rat who later served in the SAS - I loved hearing about it too, but you know what? Around my teens his stories took a different turn when I realised the madness of armed conflict. Name any armed conflict that the world has endured and, barring a few exceptions (6 day war for example) I am willing to bet it would been been cheaper and more productive to spend the money and human cost differently.Gawdzilla wrote:Meeky, robots don't survive in the military. Here's a wacky idea - if we're going to invest trillions in cash and many lives and livelihoods in to to regime change in Iraq/Afghanistan, why not go over and install housing and sanitation? I know it's different but I think it's better than blowing the shit out of the place. Why not educate their children? It will not be simple for sure, but does anyone on this board really want to argue that the West has acquitted itself well in the Middle East over the last decade?
Why not spend the trillions developing green tech so we don't need the oil we're <not> fighting for?
Why not put humans on Mars?
Why does it always have to be war?

Meeky, the military men would rather not fight wars. They're the first to get killed in most cases, 9/11 not withstanding. We would love to put down the gun, but it's not going to happen as long as we have more people than human beings.Meekychuppet wrote:I didn't say you were a robot. Re: 92,000 classified military documents leaked
Not because we attacked them. Whatever economic gripe they had is irrelevant. They claimed to be pissed off about Palestine, and they claimed to be pissed off that our dirty bootheels were on holy ground in Saudi Arabia. None of that shit means anything to me.sandinista wrote:Have a think. You tell me...why was the US attacked? Why the twin towers and the pentagon? What justification did AL QAETA have to attack the US?
One, Al Qaeta does not have standing to gripe about what Saudi Arabia allows on their land, and certainly does not have a right to attack countries because they don't like our dirty infidel feet sullying their soil. Two, they an bitch all they want about Israel and Palestine, but none of it is a justification for war on the US. And, if they feel that Arab people are economically bad off and it's the US's fault, then their recourse is through operation of law and not military action, particularly not military action against civilians.
Every reason that Al Qaeta raise, for example in their Declaration of War Against the United States, is not a legitimate reason to murder civilians in a mass hijacking, it's not a legitimate reason to blow up our Embassies.
Other than that, I'm not going speculate about what you think the reasons or justifications were. You seem to think that 9/11 was a justifiable attack - it's your position, so you go ahead and explain why you think it is. I'm not going to "have a think" and guess what reason you might have latched on to. Make your own case, and stop asking others to guess what it is you're saying. Just fucking say what you mean instead of beating about the bush.

Most people are stupid. Stupid people are easily controlled. The manipulators will get them to liking the idea of a war very easily. Then the military men are sent out to get killed.Meekychuppet wrote:Your incredulity regarding peace proves nothing.
