They need a paralyzing kick in the ass. I have never cited anything from Answering Islam on these grounds (unless to mock them), and never will either. People that slimy just can't be trusted.
Thoughts?
Intellectual wankery from both religions is of the same kind, I have known my muslim colleagues to take potshots at hindus for worshipping "stones" and deities that don't fit their misconceptions, the next time I run into them their wankery will be called out, I'm an atheist but I find their hypocrisy unbearable (not to say I can stand christian fundies either)Blitzkrebs wrote:I can’t stand Christian apologists who attack Islam. I'm not defending the religion at all here, but how does one deal people who slog Islam for being backward, and then in the same breath endorse a book that praises bashing young children against rocks and demands death for anyone who lights a fire on a Saturday? Or how about when said apologists attack the contradictions in the Qur’an? Or the fucking science? It’s so LOLcat WTF and beyond the reaches of satire.

That reminds me of a quote by Sogoyewapha, "Red Jacket".Mishakal wrote:I once was at a debate between a Catholic Priest and a Southern Baptist Preacher and it reminded me about the old question, "Why don't two psychiatrists who bump into each other on the street don't simply burst out laughing?"
They believe in almost all the same crap, what their "debate" amounted to was trying to fit what they both agreed and disagreed with into a logical framework, or else know as fitting a round peg into a square hole.
Brother, you say there is but one way to worship and serve the Great Spirit. If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much about it? Why not all agreed, as you can all read the Book?
Tl;dr - "My god can beat up your god". These are people so certain in their own convictions that they can't see that they're both in the same boat. I recall a video I saw recently in which it was the same, but the other way around - an Islamic official/cleric was talking about building churches in Saudi Arabia, and he said they shouldn't be allowed to do it because Islam is true. Why is Islam true? The Koran says it is. I kind want to ask them "So, what if you're wrong?", but we all know that doesn't usually get anything but a "LALALA IM NOT LISTENING"Blitzkrebs wrote:I can’t stand Christian apologists who attack Islam. I'd love to be there. I'd rip him apart with all of the little scientific errors in the Qur'an and make him feel like a sack of shit.Nickel wrote: "My god can beat up your god".
