The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Not even with the scullery maid? I know a chamber maid wouldn't stoop to such things but surely the lesser servants...Clinton Huxley wrote:Used to have those. Well, there was that lass from the village, the one with the hump, she was partial to a WotsitDP wrote:Not even with the scullery maid? I know a chamber maid wouldn't stoop to such things but surely the lesser servants...

Re: New Star Trek film looks incredible!
With Netflix, I pay $8.99/month for as many DVDs as I can watch, so it will cost me about $0.27. Anyway, I intended to see all if it, it just didn't hold my interest at the theater. At home I can pause it and come back when my curiosity increases or my ennui decreases.Cunt wrote:So let me get this straight...you only saw half the first time, but you liked it so much you paid to see it again??Gawdzilla wrote:Netflix says it will be here tomorrow. Heh, I've yet to see the movie. It's the first Trek film I've missed seeing in the theater since Star Trek V.

Actually I hated the film. it has an incredible look, but the story sucks big time. And the characters are not Star Trek. it would be fine if it was any other movie, without the Star Trek logo on it.Martok wrote:Heh, I've yet to see the movie.
