The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Not even with the scullery maid? I know a chamber maid wouldn't stoop to such things but surely the lesser servants...

And since she was a commoner, I'm guessing it was a cheesy wotsit.

With Netflix, I pay $8.99/month for as many DVDs as I can watch, so it will cost me about $0.27. Anyway, I intended to see all if it, it just didn't hold my interest at the theater. At home I can pause it and come back when my curiosity increases or my ennui decreases.

Heh, I've yet to see the movie. It's the first Trek film I've missed seeing in the theater since Star Trek V.

I saw Star Trek V in the theater as a kid. *shudder*

Actually I hated the film. it has an incredible look, but the story sucks big time. And the characters are not Star Trek. it would be fine if it was any other movie, without the Star Trek logo on it.

PS. Looking for a blogger template: 3 columns, dark, something on the gothic vampire side, not very intricate but elegant. If anyone knows of a template like the above PM me. Thanks.
