Ross Noble Is Not Funny

This has been annoying me for some time.

I like to think that I am able to enjoy a wide variety of comedic styles from different eras and genres, from the slap stick of Laurel & Hardy, to the deadpan delivery of Les Dawson by way of the one liners from 1970's English stand-ups to the alternative comedians and the surreal humour of Reeves and Mortimar.

I enjoy pretty much everyone who goes on Have I got News For You (a topical news quiz in the UK), and I am always sure to give new guests a chance.

But I just can't understand the sheer shitness of Ross Noble. Every utterance he makes is met with roars of laughter and approval, and he is lauded as some kind of comedy genius. His "humour" is like a watered-down, pub bore cross between the aforementioned Reeves & Mortimar and some half-arsed Butlins gobshite. It continually misses the mark and flails from piss poor observation to piss poor observation.

Is it just me? Everyone else seem to love this wanker. I just can't see what is so rip-roaringly funny about the following:

i watched the start of his DVD and turned it off after 10 minutes of this twat talking about badgers and jam. He's almost as shit as Richard Herring who talked about covering himself in yogurt for his 7 minutes of stage time when I saw him in Edinburgh.

If you check on Facebook there are tens of thousands of people banging on about how he is the funniest man who ever lived.

It's fucking mental, I just don't get it.

Now that was genius.

Oh, I really like Ross Noble! He's surreal and rambling though, you have be prepared to go with it. After watching a lot of his stuff and going to see him live I did get a bit bored with him, but I've done the same with most stand-ups that I get into and go a bit obsessive over. Did the same with Izzard. You reach saturation point.

He is good though. You should see him live, he usually riffs about half his material right off the audience.
