The Conservative Party in the UK have succumbed to the dead-end of terminal-online-ness and culture-war incoherency. The current Labour govt are going the same way and will join the Tories in the doldrums at the next general election. Farage's Reform are making the running and have won the Right, but although they're waiting in the wings they're doomed to failure too - because none of the 'popular' parties are able to address the underlying structural issues we're all dealing with. Their donors won't allow it. The Trump media-personality-project exists beyond the scope of actually doing any kind of governmental administration, let alone applying itself to 'fix' what's not working. It's an empty hole where govt used to be. I wonder how big the personality of his successor is going to have to be to maintain that kind of momentum and fill that gaping void?
