Looks like Labor is going to get enough for a majority. But if it's the minimum majority, they will still need the cross-benches as they will lose one member to the speaker's role (speaker doesn't vote). Looks like the Greens will get 5 seats, which is up from 1 seat at the last few elections.

I've heard quite a few independents standing on environment and climate issues have been elected. Are they likely to make it into the coalition?

It won't be a formal coalition. More like an agreement to support supply and not to vote for a no-confidence motion against the gov. Then each policy will be up for negotiation. As you mentioned most of the independents ran on a strong climate change platform, so they along with the Greens will push for stronger action on climate. I feel that Labor would be up for it to a certain degree. The best outcome will be Labor not getting a majority in its own right, and then the indies and Greens can really push for stronger action.
