Welp, how convenient that the powers that be decided to just let this happen. A reminder of how DC prepared a few months ago during the Black Lives Matter protests. I suppose you can't do that sort of thing when the president has encouraged a mob to 'march on the Capitol', and falsely claimed that he would march with them.



Apparently a woman who was shot in the melee inside the Capitol building in DC has died. Also it was reported that the FBI has found explosive devices inside the Capitol building.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has called the Ossoff - Perdue race in Ossoff's favor. Mitch McConnell's reign is in abeyance, at least for a couple of years.

When the House of Representatives chamber was being evacuated ahead of the goons breaking into it, a congressional staff member had the presence of mind to secure the state elector certification documents. Would have been something if the Trumpists had managed to get their hands on them.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) tells @CBSNews a “quick-thinking” staff member grabbed the Electoral College ballots:

“So we have them with us, and we will be able to proceed as long as Mitch McConnell calls us back into session.”

After the Trumpist rioters got inside the Capitol building, there were some friendly moments; rioters taking selfies with the Capitol police. That's just how it goes. Remember when Donald J. Trump called the Democratic Party an 'angry mob'? Good times.

This means they are only fractionally better for the bottom 80% of the US population than the Republicans. I expect plenty of fuckups, just like every previous time the Democrats were at the tiller.

Amongst them, there could easily be people fanatical enough to become suicide bombers or the like. As I said elsewhere on the forum, the Secret Service better be 100% on their game. Particularly for Harris - she's a non-white woman who will have the temerity to vote in Democrat legislation in the Senate when a tie-breaker is required, which would have the crazies frothing at the mouth...

There are reports that Antifa was dressing as the proud boys to distract, and the leader of the PB said they were going to dress as antifa. Fun

Then, photos linked a guy who was at todays mayhem (pretending to be a Trump supporter?) to antifa activities.

I think both are probably lying, and an arctic guy pointed out that Bernies fans were pissed that he was robbed again. Trump fans are pissed. Anyone who was better than Kamala (that's EVERYONE, by the numbers) was pissed and likely the Biden voters were pissed.

Maybe there aren't teams anymore, just some angry mobs, nudged along by whoever wants to lead an angry mob.

It is quite easy to hijack an angry mob, as they aren't even as smart as an average committee.
