Radio news spoke to an independent hauler stuck on the Kent lorry park. He was due a pick up in Belgium this morning for a delivery in Marseille, a pickup in Marseille to Spain, and a pickup in Spain back to the UK in time for Christmas. As his schedule was so tight missing the first job means he's lost all three, and he still doesn't know if he's going to be able to get home for Friday as the parking system is geared towards filtering trucks onto ferries, the ferries aren't sailing, and there's a lot of trucks in front of him.
If they fuck with the trucks, they will learn very quickly what essential really means.

Do the 7 days not count from the day the minister made the decision? That's already two weeks ago.

Anyways, since the parliament approved the pandemic law recently, I am positive they will not turn into conspiracy nuts overnight.
As far as I understand it is when it comes into force. No exact laws have been passed. These are all Ministerial Regulations issued under the legal framework of health protection which can be used for emergencies ie. flooding, fires etc. so that is what being used just now. Going the whole path of bill to law takes weeks at the best and years at the worst.
...before you blame the upsurge in cases in the Netherlands on mask wearing.

You can't have it both ways.

Meanwhile the other Dutch country, Belgium - is doing relatively well.

Must be the warmer weather. :smug:
You call it what you want. The war of 1813 is when Wallonia decided to break away. It took the peasants of Vlanderen with it. It has been a dump ever since. Vlanderen now rules the roost. Wallonia is like northern France desolate. Lorraine was taken from Germany after the WW1. Like Wallonia it became the heart of the coal and steel industries. Now it is a wasteland. The main city of Wallonia is Luik/Liege/Luttich. It is an industrial dump. The massive steel works is still in the centre of the city. It is now dead but like so much in Wallonia it is waiting to be removed.
Belgium exists thanks to the EU. Without it it would be dead. It is not part of the Netherlands but your little African mind cant conceive that. The Walloons would never be part of the Low Countries.
Ever been to Wallonia? I worked there for six months. A very interesting experience. A Dutch country it is not. Just as everything else a nice bit of cherry picking. The Belge are great at data manipulation. Because of the police structure which is responsible to the military you cant get details about road accidents; they are state secrets as is most data from the country.

I've been to Liege last year. Nice place. But definitely not Dutch. No biking infrastructure.

No matter how much there is to complain about Belgium, it is a better country than Luxembourg. Nobody wants Luxembourg.

Luxembourg is an odd place. Too rich and arrogant. Played a rugby tournament there once. Stingy buggers.

The pressure to ignore social distancing is 'uge' right now. How are my fellow 'mericans coping? Do you have an understanding family, or a bunch of Trumpian loons who protested masks, and think you're being crazy to follow CDC guidelines?

It's very low. There is a lot of confusion on measuring it. It's not that important to examine recovered people with full test, so they get antibody tests.

We won't have reliable numbers for a while.
