If this is not true please present evidence that this is so. We'll accept Dutch sources. We'll not accept sources from conspiracy sites.

Here's another:
After more than nine months of claim, counterclaim and downright confusion, masks finally became legally compulsory on Tuesday in all indoor public spaces in the Netherlands [...] The decision to make masks obligatory for everyone over 13 years on pain of a €95 fine required emergency legislation that took effect on December 1st

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
That chart up there is a bit wrong for Nebraska, as there is no state wide mandate. Governor refused.

only Lincoln and Omaha have mask mandates.

That's probably why Nebraska has been classed as a state with no state-wide mandate in that chart.Tero wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 12:23 pmThat chart up there is a bit wrong for Nebraska, as there is no state wide mandate. Governor refused.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
For those who dont mind a bit of Dutch, Het Parool, a well respected Amsterdam's newspaper about the complications of introducing a mandatory face covering measure:
Wanneer moeten we verplicht aan de mondkapjes?
This the important bit. Masks fall under a ministerial regulation which has to approved by both chambers of government which it has but and the big but its existence can be always challenged by any of the two chambers which it is going to be in the Second Chamber by Wilders. Already demonstrations have taken place against the masks. It is only valid for three months subject to requirement. It can be renewed but once again subject to Parliament's approval.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Took you long enough to acknowledge that the Dutch government has passed laws making the wearing of masks legally compulsory for everyone over 13 years in all indoor public spaces in the Netherlands on pain of a €95 fine.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:27 amMasks fall under a ministerial regulation which has to approved by both chambers of government which it has
Good. Similar laws in Australia have also been passed on very much a temporary basis, and subject to review. (I think the most recent lockdown (in Victoria) lasted less than three months.) Re: The Coronavirus Thread
They are not laws but ministerial regulations that can be challenged at any time by any Chamber and as such have not been through the Second Chamber so they are not legal yet. They have used to fine demonstrators but will rejected by the courts as soon as the cases appear. It is bluff poker.Hermit wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:21 amTook you long enough to acknowledge that the Dutch government has passed laws making the wearing of masks legally compulsory for everyone over 13 years in all indoor public spaces in the Netherlands on pain of a €95 fine.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:27 amMasks fall under a ministerial regulation which has to approved by both chambers of government which it has

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
From your own text, the parliament had 7 days to review the measures. Those 7 days have passed. So, the measures are in place now.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Tomorrow is the last day but even then Ministerial Regulations can always be challenged in the Second Chamber but laws cant. You have to introduce a bill to do that. Parliament has absolute power here. Ministerial Regulations like a lot of things here, are tolerated.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Do the 7 days not count from the day the minister made the decision? That's already two weeks ago.
Anyways, since the parliament approved the pandemic law recently, I am positive they will not turn into conspiracy nuts overnight.
