Well the paper and home made ones are certainly not. It their use that is the big problem also numbers involved well here it is as we have so few. A paper mask should only be used once and taken off by ear loops and immediately disposed in a medical waste bin. So do I, It's so bothersome that it's giving me fuel to procrastinate on such essentials as grocery shopping (which I ought to be doing, like, right as I type)Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:26 amI hate them with a vengeance. They are so dehumanising. Luckily of course they are only required in public transport where many actually dont bother. With my lungs any restriction on my breathing is painful. Anyway there has not been any guide lines issued on what a mask should be at its use that's how serious they take it. There is still no conclusive evidence to even suggest they help. Just cranking up the paranoia.
We have no restrictions on movement but that is more cultural question.

Well, here, they sell one use medical standard masks, or washable cloth ones... the high grade medical ones are still reserved for medical personnel.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:40 amNot here trailerboy.pErvinalia wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:38 amThey are paper and plastic. The exact same ones surgeons and dentists wear.

Let me put it another way. Which medical authority are you quoting for approval, and in what situations are they approved, or not approved?
What is their basis in science?
Are they taking into account Brownian Motion and Electrostatic Attraction?
...or is it a "six out of ten dentists" say it meme?

Where is social distancing here:

Paper masks. Dehumanisation that's all that is happening here.

I don't think it's possible to social distance in Japan. There's just too many people in too small an area.

That's Hong Kong. The camera perspective doesn't really tell you how close they are standing. They are probably farther away from each other than it seems. And they are all wearing masks.

Yep lovely paper ones. Dont see any medical waste bins either. They are hardly 1,5m apart.

I wonder how it works with the facial recognition the Chinese are so keen about.

Here, medical reasons (which would include your lung condition) are acceptable reasons not to wear masks...Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:26 amI hate them with a vengeance.
