Half the people in power want to make healthcare a government utility or provide it at government expense, and they want to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and to increase police powers to cut down on violence and criminal behavior in our communities. The other half that don't want to have government pay for healthcare or to raise the living wage say they don't want those things not because the recipients would be "greedy," but because they believe that a system of privately run healthcare is better and more efficient, and a living wage set to the level demanded would actually hurt more than it will help.

There is some remote connection to polls and data tracking on individuals. Article claims some Trump effect:

Trump achieved something remarkable: He said something untrue, in public, every day for the first 40 days of his presidency. The streak didn’t end until March 1.

World tells Trump to go fuck himself.

[b2]US outnumbered 14 to 1 as it vetoes UN vote on status of Jerusalem[/b2]
[b2]Nikki Haley furious over resolution, describing it as an insult and saying US won’t be told where it can put its embassy[/b2]
A UN security council resolution calling for the withdrawal of Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has been backed by every council member except the US, which used its veto.

The unanimity of the rest of the council was a stark rebuke to the Trump administration over its unilateral move earlier this month, which upended decades of international consensus.

The Egyptian-drafted resolution did not specifically mention the US or Trump but expressed “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem”.

A spokesman for the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, responded to the veto by saying it was “unacceptable and threatens the stability of the international community because it disrespects it”.

The UK and France had indicated in advance that they would would back the text, which demanded that all countries comply with pre-existing UN security council resolutions on Jerusalem, dating back to 1967, including requirements that the city’s final status be decided in direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Few are asking you to give away anything. It's more about asking you to adjust your expectations.

The president? That is supposed to be the politician to lie least. A sort of model for congress. He is not supposed to be lier in chief.

Obama lied about ”you can keep your doctor.” The costs of health insurance went up because: they only go up now. Every change is annexcuse to raise rates. Start Obamacare: raise rates. End Obamacare? Raise rates for same policy. Lower rates for cheaper useless policy.

That isn't what the post said, which was that people in power are saying that people who want healthcare, a living wage and freedom from "fear and violence," are greedy. Nobody is saying that, as far as I can find. Many people in power want to give health care and a living wage away as government mandates. The ones that don't, however, are not saying that the people who want that are greedy, just that to make it government mandates does more harm than good.

And, I wrote nothing about giving away anything. I wrote that based on the post I was responding to, I ought not pay for water, right? I mean, it's a necessity and for me to ask for my necessities for free is not greedy. And, same goes for food and healthcare.

And, as for freedom from fear and violence - neither side of the political spectrum is shy about increasing the amount of police enforcement to reduce crime. If that's what people want, the government will be more than happy to oblige.

So, who was the non-liar running in 2016?
Tero wrote: Obama lied about ”you can keep your doctor.” The costs of health insurance went up because: they only go up now. Every change is annexcuse to raise rates. Start Obamacare: raise rates. End Obamacare? Raise rates for same policy. Lower rates for cheaper useless policy.
He "lied" about health insurance saving the average family $2,500, which it did not. He lied about NSA data collection practices. He lied about 90% of guns in Mexico coming from the US. He lied about Fast and Furious. He lied about it being easier to buy a gun than fresh vegetables. He lied dozens of times like “If you like your doctor, you'll be able to keep your doctor; if you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan.” He lied about Obamacare throughout, and refused to let the people or Congress know what was in it before it was passed - “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically, that was really, really critical to get this thing to pass.” - Gruber. Lies of his administration about Libya and Afghanistan and drone strikes.... The list goes on and on.

Please, an article seeking to compare a number of lies, and suggesting that Obama's lies amount to about a dozen in 8 years? The New York Times counted all of Trump's repetitions of the same "lie." However, they did not count Obama's repetitions - like the dozens of times he referred to keeping your same doctor, or keeping your same insurance plan, which are two different lies, which he repeated over, and over and over again. And, the repeat lies about making health care more affordable and less expensive (he said both, which in politicians' minds are two different things...).

So, don't come at me with this "Trump lies, we should have elected the truth candidate..." lol - the only choices we had were people who would lie. The disadvantage trump is in is that he has hardly anybody who wants to help him smooth over stuff or sweep it under the rug. A Clinton presidency would have a fawning and swooning press looking to reword statements, engage in apologetics, and just ignore falsehoods. At least now, despite how pathetic the press has been in getting accurate statements in print, they are at least so aggressively anti-President that we can rest assured that if there was anything real out there - anything of major importance - it would have been leaked and printed by now. They best they have is vague allegations about Russia with no substance, crude statements, and lies about "crowd size" or dick size or how Yoooge a wall is going to be - in other words - irrelevancies. You think Trump can "lie us into a war?" Think again. There isn't a thing the guy does that the mainstream media supports.

Yeah, he lied 12 times. No ”weapons of mass destruction” scale lie as far as foreign policy. Botched Benghazi, Hillary took blame. No thousand Iraqis dead, just a few Americans.

Far more than 12 - they counted Trump's repeat statements as separate lies (like about crowd sizes - each time he said it was counted), but for Obama, they did not count the repeat instances of him saying you can keep your doctor or you can keep your health insurance plan.

Oh, just a few Americans? And a jailed dopey moviemaker who was intitially pointed to as the blame because he offended Muslims.

Lies about Afghanistan caused at least 1000 troop deaths. Lies about Libya got us into the Libyan war and caused thousands of Libyan deaths, and now they have slavery again in Libya.

but but but... crowd sizes!

I said Benghazi but it was really Libya that Obama failed with. The bigger thing. I was going to add that but you got there first. I was driving then.

Donald Trump, A Track Record of Accomplishment

Post by Forty Two » Tue Dec 19, 2017 4:27 pm

If in, say, 2014, a Republican, of either the conservative or moderate variety, predicted that in 2017 a newly-elected GOP president and Congress would —

Cut corporate and individual taxes.
Repeal the Obamacare individual mandate.
Appoint a highly-respected conservative to the Supreme Court.
Appoint a one-year record number of judges to the district courts.
Get rid of reams of unnecessary regulations.
Destroy ISIS.
Approve pipeline projects and new oil drilling.
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/byron ... le/2643791

A provision for drilling in ANWAR in the tax bill
Rollback of myriad unnecessary and costly regulations
lower corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%
move to territorial tax system, rather than worldwide taxation
reverse the bogus net neutrality regulations
rescind the Title IX "dear colleague" letter
Pulling out of the Paris Accords
Decertifying the Iran deal
Declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel
Reestablish baseline immigration enforcement that has reduced illegal border crossings immediately
Good job creation record
Unemployment down
Inflation low
Industry on the upswing
Consumer confidence high
Business confidence high
Real estate on the upswing
GDP moving up over 3% and headed to 4% growth
Expanded sanctions on North Korea and got China to send a delegation

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/4 ... plishments

He declared November 7 as the National Day to honor the Victims of Communism.

Lot's more!

Go, Trump, Go!

Why is cut taxes an accomplishment? Why are regulationd bad? Do you want to die of failed air bags or food poisoning? What is this swamp? The politicians or the regulators? Why are Muslims bad? How do we MAGA with coal and tar sands?
