Being a cause of sexism doesn't mean being the only cause or causal factor. But, if it is a causal factor, if it does "contribute" to sexism, then it is a cause of sexism, by definition. If the "contribution" does not result an in an increase in sexism, then it's not contributing to sexism, is it?
What's your distinction here between being a contribution to sexism vs a cause of sexism? If you understood me to mean "the only" cause, well, then I'll clarify that I did not intend that.
