For several reasons. The UK makes EU stronger. The UK leaving could have consequences for the EU. Maybe Scotland would want to separate again, maybe others would. Separatist tendencies are not welcome in the EU (see Spain vs Basque for example). The UK is part of the so-called Anglo-saxon world, from our perspective for example, and her close relationship with the USA is important to us. The UK is nuclear power.
