I really enjoyed that movie! And her ballgown is an absolute masterpiece of costuming and it damned well better win an Oscar. The dance shots from overhead showing how that gown flowed were breathtaking. Over a thousand crystal beads were hand-sewn on that gown. Truly remarkable. Why would I bother? Lily James is very, very beautiful, and the gown she wore only enhanced her beauty. One does not have to be gay to appreciate a beautiful woman in a beautiful dress. Just because it's the antithesis of the "little black dress" doesn't mean it's not gorgeous, and the engineering that went in to making that dress move the way it did is a work of art all it's own.
