I agree. We should have leveled Baghdad with cruise missiles, JDAMs, Arclight strikes and other stand-off munitions the first time, and then destroyed the entire technological infrastructure of Iraq, from dams to sewage plants to dog food factories and kept blowing them up until the Iraqis handed over Saddam and his henchmen to us themselves. Not a single American boot should have touched Iraqi soil. Ever.piscator wrote:But it was damn sure a pisspoor reason to spend $5Trillion of my tax dollars doing it.
You're off your fucking head. It's cunts like you who give the USA a seriously bad rep - even to other peoples within The West. We should do that to everybody who drags us into war by being uncivilized and belligerent.
Put them in the stone age and keep them there until they learn to play nice with others.
Israel doesn't have to make an agreement, they are required by the UN to allow inspectors into their facilities. And Israel is illegally occupying and building in another country, against a host of UN resolutions. You don't give a fuck about UN resolutions. You only care about Iraq because of the Bush's. You're as transparent as a ghost.Seth wrote:Israel didn't invade a neighbor, get defeated by that neighbor and its allies and agree, as part of the cease-fire agreement, to cooperate with UN weapons inspections and divest all WMDs.rEvolutionist wrote:No it's not. Therefore, false dilemma fallacy.
Had Israel made such an agreement, then I'd be saying the same thing about it.

You shouldn't, because Seth is clearly a fucking dunce. Great. Just illustrates what I said on the ''are liberals more intelligent?'' thread, about conservatives always going for the simple-minded solution.Seth wrote: I agree. You're quite right, I don't give a fuck about the UN as an organization or their resolutions. But that's beside the point. The Coalition does, and did, and Saddam broke his promise, ergo he got taken out. The US stopped short of deposing him the first time, after his clearly belligerent invasion of Kuwait only on his promise that he would abide by the UN-mandated agreements. The US agreed to let the UN make the agreement and do the inspections as a favor to the rest of the planet. We need not have done so. We could just as easily and justifiably demanded that Saddam permit US inspectors to keep track of his activities. We could have, and should have, simply occupied Iraq, taken Saddam prisoner and hung him for crimes against humanity and against the allies of the United States and told the UN to fuck off. We didn't as a gesture of solidarity with the UN, but we were in no way obligated to involve the UN in any aspect of that or any subsequent war. The US is a sovereign nation and our treaties with our allies take precedence over any UN resolutions, but when a belligerent agrees to submit to UN oversight as a condition of the US ceasing hostilities, then the US is perfectly entitled to resume hostilities if the belligerent fails to do so.You don't give a fuck about UN resolutions.
Actually, I despise Bush the Younger because he's as much a Progressive as Obama is and he's a RINO who presided over the largest expansion of the federal government in US history...until Obama came along. But he was handed the shit end of the stick and the one thing I can say for him is that he told us what he was going to do, got Congressional approval to do it, and then did what he said he was going to do, which is more than Obama has ever done. You only care about Iraq because of the Bush's. You're as transparent as a ghost.
I didn't say anything about civilian populations, I said infrastructure. I'd be happy dropping leaflets telling residents of Baghdad to leave because in 24 hours we are going to level the place, and civilians aren't much of an issue at dams, power plants, refineries and other critical infrastructure targets.rEvolutionist wrote:You shouldn't, because Seth is clearly a fucking dunce. Yes, I did. I didn't say anything about killing everyone in Baghdad however. If that's what I meant, I would have said "We should have used biological and chemical weapons to kill every last living grasshopper-eating, camel-fucking raghead motherfucker in Iraq/Iran/Syria/Egypt etc.". Oh wait, that's what Saddam tried to do to the Kurds...rEvolutionist wrote: You said we should have "levelled Bagdad".
I've argued a good many things, regularly and irregularly, none of which may be thought to be an accurate or actual representation of my personal beliefs, as you well know. And you've argued for bombing civilian populations regularly in the past.
I'm not the one chopping off hands, sawing off heads and stoning women to death, nor am I the one flying airliners into buildings...or mountains. For you to complain about uncivilized and belligerent people is irony of the most spectacular order.
Why thank you. Fine compliment indeed coming from you. This shows that I'm doing my job just exactly as I intended to.You are THE most uncivilised poster ever seen on rd.net/ratskep/rationalia.
False dilemma fallacy. I never said you advocated killing everyone in Baghdad. Levelling Baghdad will, however, result in mass civilian casualties. This is simple logical reasoning. Surely you can manage this level of logic?Seth wrote:Yes, I did. I didn't say anything about killing everyone in Baghdad however.rEvolutionist wrote: You said we should have "levelled Bagdad".
Irrelevant to whether you are an uncivilised thug.If that's what I meant, I would have said "We should have used biological and chemical weapons to kill every last living grasshopper-eating, camel-fucking raghead motherfucker in Iraq/Iran/Syria/Egypt etc.". There's no misrepresentation. Levelling Baghdad will result in mass civilian casualties. This is simple logical reasoning. Surely you can manage this level of logic? But I didn't. It's hardly my fault, or my concern, that you insist on misinterpreting what I actually write to suit your own need for ad hom argumentation.
What I know is that you believe almost everything you spew out. That much is obvious from interacting with you for years. And regardless of what you may or may not actually believe, we only have your words here to go by. And your words, while criticising others for being uncivilised and barbaric, are the very epitome of lacking in civilisation.I've argued a good many things, regularly and irregularly, none of which may be thought to be an accurate or actual representation of my personal beliefs, as you well know. And you've argued for bombing civilian populations regularly in the past.
