Legally, that is not true. Iran has signed the Nuclear non-proliferation treaty, and thus signed away their rights to make nuclear wepons, Israel has not.

Iran has the legal right to break the conditions of the treaty. It's a sovereign state.
It's up to them if it complies or not. There is no international court.

The US is breaking the non-proliferation agreement by supplying the weapons material and technology to Israel under cover. That gives Iran the moral right to respond.

Well, I disagree to an extent. The actual state of Saudi Arabia has itself a lot to fear from fundamentalist muslims, who despise the Saudi royal family and its connections to the US. However, there are many fundamentalist preachers there, and many wealthy Saudis who give major financial support to various terrorist organisations. Quite the house divided, actually...

Obviously every law and treaty is dependent on someone with power reinforcing it. Somehow I think the big guys with armys are more concerned about the spread of nuclear weapons, than about asylum seekers in Australia.

They get food, alright, but yeah, all prisoners do these days. As for health care, they get less than ordinary imprisoned criminals. Oh, and being able to leave any time they like? I don't think so. The so-called immigration detention centres are prisons - concentration camps without the comforting warmth provided by gas ovens and without adequate shower facilities.









Those gates and fences are not designed to keep people out.

Not really. If they are free to leave the country and go home then they are free and they CHOOSE to live in detention facilities, which in all probability are far nicer than anything they might get in their home country. Constraining their movements to prevent them from disappearing into the general population and taking jobs from Australians is perfectly appropriate for illegal aliens and should be the norm worldwide. Australia is being particularly compassionate by providing them with such nice living facilities.

The US, on the other hand, (well, the Obama administration right now really) invites illegal aliens with an "open" border that kills hundreds every year just trying to cross and then it allows them to disappear into the grey market of illegal labor where they can be (and are) exploited and abused, and not infrequently killed and enslaved for profit by people of their own ethnicity.

I bet the sex slaves in the US would love to be living in a well-maintained and guarded compound where they wouldn't have to screw 50 men a day just to stay alive.
