Ship all the refuges back to Iraq and make them fight. Escape shouldn't be an option.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

I said the same thing about 6 years ago on RDF and was called RACIST.mistermack wrote:The only thing that would keep that lot in line is sheer terror.
Saddam Hussein was able to keep them in fear of their lives. A democratic law-abiding government doesn't stand a chance.

Maybe you fail to realise how fast societies can either progress or regress? That's really a absence of imagination issue.Elderito wrote:I said the same thing about 6 years ago on RDF and was called RACIST.mistermack wrote:The only thing that would keep that lot in line is sheer terror.

That's just standard operational procedure. Every time I criticise muslim theocracies, I am accused of being a racist. Every time I criticise Israeli oppression, I am accused of being a racist. Sceptics, atheists, rationalists are no less deluded about their intellectual prowess than anyone else. That's why I especially despise those people who want to be known as Brights. Arrogant arsewipes. No better than our chief DKhead.Elderito wrote:I said the same thing about 6 years ago on RDF and was called RACIST.mistermack wrote:The only thing that would keep that lot in line is sheer terror.

Looks like our old ally Iran is willing to help

Shi'te Muslim Iran is so alarmed by Sunni insurgent gains in Iraq that it may be willing to cooperate with Washington in helping Baghdad fight back, a senior Iranian official told Reuters.
The idea is being discussed internally among the Islamic Republic's leadership, the senior Iranian official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official had no word on whether the idea had been raised with any other party.
Officials say Iran will send its neighbor advisers and weaponry, although probably not troops, to help its ally Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki check what Tehran sees as a profound threat to regional stability, officials and analysts say.

Re: Iraq is finished.
Iran will be only too happy to relieve the "democratic" government of Iran of the burden of operating and maintaining the 15billion dollars worth of military hardware the USA has bequeathed to it. That'll be such a beautiful gesture, but it won't come as a surprise. Iran and Iraq are friends. Iran and Iraq have always been friends.
But then comes the problem of what to do with all that gear. The solution is obvious. Much of it will finish up elsewhere in the Middle East - Syria to start off with. The most extreme end of the Muslim spectrum will be most happy with Allah having provided them with the wherewithal necessary to more speedily and efficiently spread theocracy via Jihad.
The utter stupidity with which US governments persist conducting foreign policy is breathtaking.

Re: Iraq is finished.
Calling U.S. foreign policy breathtakingly stupid is damning it with faint praise and an insult to breathtakingly stupid people the world over. They've spent trillions of dollars of tax payer money, mortgaged the whole fucking country to the Chinese, wasted thousands of lives, armed the enemy for the next generation and for what? Fucking place is worse off then when we went in. These wet-brained imbeciles couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery. They fucking disgust me, the job lot.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
