Watch it, Shaker, it's great. I love the opening battle in the fog and the bloodthirsty little noble brat....

Regardless of his lineage I can't help but snicker. Imagine a non-highborn boy his age on a warship.Elessarina wrote:Gawdzilla wrote:I liked a 13 yo boy being called "Lord".Clinton Huxley wrote:Watch it, Shaker, it's great. I remember something similar, so I'll believe you. They had a hard life, but it beat living in a cave under London I guess. Less chance of getting murdered in your sleep for the rags on your back.Elessarina wrote:the youngest person ever to win the Victoria Cross was a powder monkey too.. 15 I believe he was.. this is from memory.. look it up

I liked the movie, but to me, it still paled in comparison to the magnificent series of books...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

Re: Master and Commander
I like to say that "it was a movie about the world the author created". Like LOTR, there's no way a movie can get more than the flavor of a book. That's why I like to project books on the inside of my skull and watch the book that way.JimC wrote:I liked the movie, but to me, it still paled in comparison to the magnificent series of books...
