Calling someone a dick, whether you think it's true or not, is name calling. On a few occasions you've mentioned you've been around for a while...back in your day (which I'm assuming is close to my day since I'm 54) I know that calling someone a dick would be name calling...So, just a personal and polite request, it would be much more of a pleasure for me to read your posts without your brand of honesty, which is a little embarrassing and uncomfortable for me. That's totally my problem, I know, but I'm just askin', please?

I find it hard believe that you talk to people like this in real life (yea, yea, I know this isn't real life it's the Internet), so is it old age? JUST TEASING. (Check out George Carlin's gag about aging in his last show, " It's Bad For 'Ya"), is it the anonyminity of the Internet, or what?

I can see perfectly well when someone's deliberately being a dick, and I have no hesitation in calling them out for it. I'm a dick myself, sometimes, and calling someone a dick is, after all, being a dick, even if they are being a dick. I reserve the right to be a dick sometimes but don't do it to people who aren't being dicks themselves. My tendency is to let folks determine how I treat them; if they don't like it, they need to change what they've determined to present to me. I don't see a lot of point in being nice to someone who's being a dick to me, and I have to point out that I've had a lot more success pointing out they're being a dick than being nice.

We'll see. I have a real attachment to honesty. It's a determining factor in my makeup. I consider it far more important than politeness. Also, there's the fact that you're asking me to be nice when someone's being a dick to me; you could always go ask them not to be a dick first, and then I wouldn't tell them they were being a dick anymore. The potential gains are much larger, you see; two people stop being dicks instead of one. So, simple question: why bug me about it when someone else started it? Try asking them not to be a dick before you start asking me to be dishonest, please.

I commented that this thread was full of drama then much later made one more post suggesting what I think was/is the cause of it and agreeing with another member. 2 posts, 1 directed to you and it wasn't even impolite.

Precisely, and you'll note I never said Pord was a dick, I said Pord was being a dick.

Also note that I never bothered to tell Seth he's being a dick; just put him on ignore and walked away. Far more contemptuous. Seth will never change and probably doesn't even believe the bullshit he spouts. CES, OTOH, might, but I've decided it's not my fucking job. I'll just keep blowing holes in the propaganda and maybe someday he'll figure it out.

ETA: Another point to ponder: I don't believe in being pointlessly mean. What I mean is, I wouldn't bother telling Pord s/he's being a dick if I didn't think s/he doesn't want to be a dick.

And you're still whining about being on ignore. I look every so often to see if you've stopped being a dick. So if you just stop being a dick, eventually you'll get off ignore. But it's gonna be a while since you tried to fuck with my head, and since you insulted me by assigning a motive you have no fucking way of knowing is true or not. You could make the time shorter by apologizing if it bothers you that much.

You might also find that if you refrain from being a dick and a pompous ass, you won't have that sort of problem in the first place.
