When Scotland becomes independent, it can buy weapons from whoever it likes.
SA-11 Buk units for the border?
Just pits with stakes would be fine.

We'll have a trench along the border, filled with fruit and green vegetables. I'd like to see the Scot that could cross that.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

We're don't explode in a shower of fiery chunks on
contact with a vegetable, like some sort of new Blade vampire offshoot. We wouldn't have to EAT the veg to get across, surely?
Or we could flood the trench with Irn Bru.
Actually that would be more dangerous.

If you really want to keep the English out, just post a bloke playing the bagpipes every 200 yards along Hadrian's wall.
Of course, there's always the possibility of sending in the Queen' Own Deaf-as-a-post regiment, to neutralise them I suppose.

Scots don't want to keep the English out, it's Darling/Cameron/Milibland/Balls/Alexander ... um ... what's him name ... thingy ... deputy PM ... who want to erect border posts. Not Scotland.

Will Scotland become part of the Schengen treaty as soon as their belonging to the EU is recognized?

I would think to the benefit of all concerned the situation will remain as is - as with Euro - Scotland wouldn't have to join, certainly not for the foreseeable future.

A shame... especially as the Independent Scottish Pund is going to make the old Greek Drachma look like a strong currency

Livingston man misplaces keys.

All the polls suggest the Scots are going to chicken out.
Of course they will hate the English even more after they decide to stay part of this great nation....*cough*
