Christian Prayer centre - praise the Lord!

Post by Rum » Thu Oct 06, 2011 6:07 am

I posted recently about some spam I had received from the so called 'Christian Prayer Centre'. I have now managed to cancel any more spam from them, but in the process I went to their web site. I don't like to mock the afflicted - well unless they deserve it, but here are some of the 'reports' apparently received from the poor deluded users of this service. (Can be found at http://www.christianprayercenter.com/praise.html btw). Lots of :fp: !

"Thank you for you prayer, God has answered my prayer, the bank called me on Tuesday morning and told me they cancelled the sheriff sale on my home that was scheduled for the 23rd of this month....Thank You Jesus! thank you, thank you, thank you Jesus."
-Jill D., Plainview, TX

"The Lord made my HIV test NEGATIVE!! Praise our God for giving me a second chance at life! Thank you Lord! You are loving and compassionate!"
Santos M., Bonifay, FL

"I wanna give a praise report, amen.!!! Lord is faithful because I have began to see great signs and wonders happening the day after I send in my prayer request, amen.!!!"
-Francis D., Lake Village, AR

A few weeks ago, my cat Punkin was gravely ill. I asked for prayer for her healing. Not only is she healed from the bout of irritable bowel syndrome that she was having, but she is completely healed. No signs of sensitive stomach, no occasional diarrhea. Complete, total healing. Praise God!"
-Suzanne M., Everett, WA

"I was in the middle of a trial and the charges against me were dismissed."
-Omar S.

"You guys are amazing! Thank you for making a format for something as often underrated as a prayer request. The sheer humility and subsequent relief and acceptance that a matter so personal, so near and dear to the human heart, is relinquished to a greater arena and uplifted to The Lord God Almighty is sublime and wonderous, powerful and moving, motivating and humbling. It opens the door for The Spirit of God, yes The Holy Spirit to access, to gain entry to the heart and soul of everyone involved! That means everybody! You, John Carlson, and everyone at the Christain prayer Center, and yes, people like me who are broken hearted and down."
-Kathy L.

Confirmation bias - and given that god's will is anything that happens to you, he wouldn't get the blame even if things had turned out badly.

As always with this kind of thing, I end up wishing that so many lives weren't trapped in the cycle of self-perpetuating ignorance. When you're inside, you don't even realise you're inside, and you don't need to realise you're inside, because it's all lovely.

How many great thinkers and creators have we missed, because they were filled with fluff and fear? Weep for the potential that humanity loses every day.

But why put that shit on your website - unless you thought it would convince some people?

You were never that dumb my dear, deluded, maybe.
