But Dev could not be arsed to offer any of his insights in a constructive way earlier in the thread. Perhaps anther perspective would have helped things turn out differently, or at least staved off the inevitable for a few more days. Maybe he could have assisted Schniebster in clarifying his complaints, but that would have averted Dramaz, so he chose to fan the flames instead.

You have got to be kidding, Robert_S. Of course I have not read Devogue's post - for he is on my ignore list - but had I read it, I would have regarded it as a drama-free evaluation of the situation. The even-handedness is plain to see. Look at it: "All of this could have been avoided if both Seth and Schneib had their heads cracked together in the gentlest possible way" and "Schneib has made a mountain out of a molehill in this thread". There is no hint of invective, goading or hyperbole anywhere either. I couldn't see anything in Dev's post (had I read it) that would justify you writing what you did. You wrote total, unadulterated rubbish.

Earlier in this thread I expressed my displeasure at the tedium Schneibster used the "first lie" and "gaming the system" mantras. To me it revealed a mix of intellectual inflexibility, not to say an unwillingness to try to understand other people's points of view, and a very closed-mindedness bordering on dogmatism. Those mantras seriously impeded his ability to discuss the issues at hand. More of a problem than that, though, is the uneven treatment meted out to him, but the biggest disappointment is the hive-like piling on top of Schneibster by quite a number of forum members. They remind me of similar behaviour in other forums.

It's a pity Devogue's almost lone voice is not listened to because the noise of past dramas echoes too loudly in some people's heads. Drama is not all he's good at. He does not shy away from researching for what has actually been said, creating a reasonably accurate timeline of a sequence of relevant posts, and he makes a good fist of analysing the situation. Perhaps I should take him off my ignore list (thus emptying it altogether).

He referred to me as a "it" right from the very start. Without any provocation. So I say fuck him, he just started squealing because people treated him in like manner. He was always going to run away, so he's no loss.

As far as the moderation goes, there was nothing wrong at all.
If you referee a football match, you do it incident by incident. A tackle is either a foul, or not.
Otherwise you would be ALWAYS blowing your whistle.
If one side gets away with five near fouls, that weren't quite bad enough to call a foul, and then the other side commits ONE that crossed the line, then the record shows just one foul.

The side that came off worst always protest, but you can't referee a match any other way.
As a player, you can take it like a man, or cry like a baby.
Schneib made his choice. That's why I wonder whether the age he gave was actually true.

Pappa, you though about it. It's a shame it took so long. I guess of everything it bothered me the most that it took so long for a responsible adult who could think to say something. The behavior by the gang here was disgusting, and it was pretty much a foregone conclusion I was going away at least temporarily (and for more than a week) at that point, unless I got some apologies. Not having received them, I'll have a couple moderators whose moderation I will question every time I see it, and a long ignore list, assuming I ever return on an ongoing basis.

I don't think you should have these people on staff and I think they've demonstrated it by their own actions. Having them on staff here makes me hesitate and always will unless they develop the courage to admit they were wrong and apologize. I'll name them: Bella Fortuna and Tigger. These people are not moderator material; they don't have enough control over their emotional responses, and show no sign of awareness of it.

Xamonas, you kept saying the same thing over and over like I hadn't heard you the first time. I pointed out the flaws in it repeatedly and you ignored them. You are perfectly capable of seeing that this is so and why it is so, but choose to ignore it. That's not very honest, but at least you attempted to be as honest as your limited viewpoint allowed; I suspect you do not see the flaw in your reasoning. It doesn't make it hurt less. You might want to keep it in mind.

And guess what? You get to do that here, unlike RatSkep, where criticizing the Mods is justification for a death sentence. Just play nice and have some sense of humor.

That has to do with the whiney tone of his return, and the as-yet unanswered questions about his abstruse and recondite "complaints" about me. Seems to me he still has a chip on his shoulder about getting a friendly Mod nudge and still seems to be calling me a liar, for what reason I don't know. I find him to be insincere, supercilious and arrogant in his responses to criticism, so I'm not feeling particularly charitable. And since I have no mod power, I'm not in his shoes, exactly, and I don't recall every whining like a little bitch about anything. I tried hard to be rational and logical in my complaints about the Modding at RatSkep, and was soundly ignored, but I don't recall pissing and moaning about it and calling people liars all the time.
