That quote sound more to me like using the system of rules here to get somebody else reminded/warned/suspended by taking offence at something they've said to you and reporting it. Like a Brazilian footballer crying that they've been fouled.

I think you have it. My impression was that he didn't like me because he thought I was a "troll" and was offended that the staff wasn't doing anything about it in his favor.

In other words, when I criticized his posts, and he took offense at being criticized in a particular (though unidentified) manner, he was expecting some RatSkep like hammering of me by the Mods for being provocative and somehow not adequately protective of his interests.

I was expanding upon the small point about a member being offended... mostly just to clarify it for anyone else reading who might have been left with the impression that we act upon posts that individuals find offensive.

That only Schneib was cautioned for using it, particularly in the context of mutual pejoratively expressed disagreement between he and seth, is something that could be addressed if staff are interested in being even handed. Personally, I'm for ditching the nanny mentality and encouraging members to take responsibility for their own feelings. I've done it ... it's not that fucking difficult.

Ah, OK, you were talking of the actual situation on RatZ today, whereas I was extrapolating what would happen in the hypothetical situation if Schneibster's definition of "gaming the system" was taken into account. That explains the feeling of incongruence that I got, I think.
