What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I'm all for universal health care...so long as YOU are paying for it for ME and I don't have to pay anything ever, including taxes.Gawdzilla » wrote:More Infants Die Early in US than in 40 Countries, Including Cuba: WHO Study

Re: More Infants Die Early in US than in 40 Countries, Inclu
My wife has a friend who recently spent a few weeks travelling around the US. She was astounded at the massive numbers of homeless people she saw, including young families with kids, sleeping rough or dossing down in a car. Sure, we have them here too, but she was seriously taken aback by the numbers...
If families with kids are homeless, expect another child mortality spike...

Libertarianism. I thought that would have been obvious enough.JimC » wrote:Not quite sure of the target of the sarcasm, here...Seraph » wrote:Well, seeing they have chosen to be parasites on society by staying willfully unemployed, soJimC » wrote:My wife has a friend who recently spent a few weeks travelling around the US. Fair enough, but Seth hasn't posted here that I can see, so it was a wasted shot...Seraph » wrote:Libertarianism. Not noticing Seth's posts is a naturally evolved defence mechanism in humans.
