I recognize the name, too. Welcome!

Hello SD ... I remember you, too.

And this "advisory" is posted in a thread that SD can't even see due to having been suspended?Seabass wrote:Here is the text from Blip's warning:Strontium Dog wrote:Is that what I got the third warning for? But that doesn't make sense as I removed the quotes when requested
MODNOTE
Strontium Dog, this is a warning that you have removed one unacceptable signature to replace it with another.
This is not acceptable as it is inciting others to breach the Forum Users’ Agreement, specifically section 1.2e, which prohibits posts designed to provoke other members and section 1.2c, which prohibits personal attacks on other members.
As this is your third active warning, you will now be suspended for one week. We suggest you use this period to reflect on your behaviour on this forum.
Any comments on this modnote or moderation should not be made in the thread as they will be considered off topic. You may PM a global or senior moderator or you may raise a thread in feedback if you so wish

'Sup Dog.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Welcome, Strontium Dog. I recall you ruffling a few feathers at the Richard Dawkins Forum, but no particular transgressions of rules. I enjoyed some of the very concise challenges you made in reply to posters who indulged in wooly thinking.
Love the sig you used at RDF MarkII. To call it "inciting others to breach the Forum Users’ Agreement" is a spectacularly willful misrepresentation of what that signature is about. The "prefects with swagger sticks" type response you got for it is precisely why I hardly spend any time there.

Everyone is much more friendly here, thanks to all for the kind welcomes.
Needless to say, the personal attack on me remains uncensured.
"It" is a scheme for unemployed people to get unpaid work experience placements. I had a few reservations about it, but I was openly supportive of it in principle, so I'm apparently scum and cancer and need to be shot.tattuchu wrote:What is "it"?Strontium Dog wrote:Meanwhile, here's a comment about me that has got a free pass on RatSkep:

Re: Hi Everyone!
Well, I've just had a leisurely morning reading through the thread that ultimately led to SD's suspension, and the one with the fallout.
Two things struck me - firstly, there was a lot of bad blood and handbags, with the debate going beyond robust, but all sides raised the ante and nobody was more guilty of anything than anyone else.
Secondly, Emmeline's (Topsy) response was illuminating. She was always a very steady, widely respected and sensible moderator at RDF and she reckons that the moderation has been heavy handed and one sided. I agree with her.
