Sure, I can see how you don't see it and think its just bluster. Some players aren't all that good, but talk like better players while making the same mistakes again and again. But its not bluster, and hopefully with enough experience you will start to see it for yourself. There is actually data in the noise of early game play--its why I am fairly intolerant of a bunch of nonsense posting esp early on because it allows scum to blend in more easily. On Nightson, his posting early in the day was pro town, but he started following others later in the day, which suggested a lack of commitment to his game. Scum like to seem like they were "unsure" about their votes, so when the lynchee comes up town they can have an excuse: they weren't "sure". So I said he looked less town later in the day.
On the second question you asked: you posted 4 times day one if the search function works correctly. Once at least to say how confused you were. This is consistent with how scum like to hedge their bets and hide from attention. But you are also somewhat misreading my post, or I misspoke it. You were in the same group as the others as uncertain. Each of you were there for similar, but different, reasons.
And now you are wringing your hands over being wrong about DP. Town is going to make "wrong" votes. A lot. Get over it, or look like scum. The trick is to be wrong for the right reasons. That way lynched town will read the message of the deficiencies in their game from the lynches, make adjustments, and make it harder for scum to hide. That is, unless they are Shizz or others who have cognitive inabilities to see where and why they are systematically wrong.

Yeah well if you are town you aren't really helping.higgs2 wrote:Bilirubin wrote:Yeah, diva is looking p town here. In the TR game, when she had a lot of votes on her, she asked "why you all voting on me?" instead of melting down. Putting her back into my town column.
DeanM on the other hand looks scummy in this game. Ksen looks the same as he did in the last game too. In before: but they are both voting for you!
Higgs is also quite scummy for the degree of involvement. I also note that FF and Aza were nearly lock step voting (1st and 2nd, alternating, on days 1 and 2 on Shizz Borealis was 3rd on that BW).
just so you know this was my post in the sign up thread:

but. i am going to be really busy. i might not post for long stretches and the catch up. I might have to skim threads if they get long and I might miss some stuff. I'm not going to explain myself when I pop in and out. So if you can't fucking deal with that then tell me now and I'm out. I get enough whining from my kids."
this is as involved as i can be because of rl stuff. otherwise I would agree that my lack of particpation is really off.

This is a pretty scummy post, although I appreciate the vote of confidence.

There are a few players I trust, and that's what they see. I see it as well, though I'd prefer a Bili lynch.
Higgs, what's with your reads? You see the scummiest players as Town, and you hedge like crazy on the Gonzo BW.

Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 3
zig i don't think i was hedging like crazy. diva always seems scummy atsome level to me, which is why I wasn't as forceful about my vote as i usually am.also, i really haven't had time to study this game much.Zigmen wrote:##Unvote##

i don't see it with bili, what you are seeing. with irre if i get a town vibe from her i usually go with it as she's a good town player, that may be prejudicing me. also, gonzo?

Fair enough, except I posted six times on Day 1. Nightson post four times.Bilirubin wrote:Sure, I can see how you don't see it and think its just bluster. I'm not so much hand-wringing about my past mistake of thinking DP was scum, as a possible future mistake (as in this vote, tonight). As I see it, you're either Scum or a Town Special.I don't want to lynch a Town Special. I also don't want to not lynch Scum this round.
Have we been spending way, way too much time FOSing one another (I don't mean you and me, I mean everyone) instead of trying to form a cohesive unit? It's the third day, and the votes are all over the place for the third day. When is the time right for a little self-sacrifice? It's probably too late for today, but maybe tomorrow?
It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.
