Don't go near that elevator - that's just what they want us to do... trap us in a steel box and take us down to the basement.

I agree with that (even though I didn't get the joke the first time I read it). Gonzo knew it, Zigmen knew it, Feck knew it and I think you even said you remembered it later.irretating wrote:irretating wrote:Amok the bili/Jason thing is a rouge pickled fish! Really!
I'm still reading, but in the meantime, I'd like to ask Bilirubin: did you read my post about my Scum list (as it stood on Day 2)? What did you think of it?

I'm back finally. trying to sort out what's going on. I don't get diva's obsession with publically "unmaskin"g tr players over here. bad form if you ask me. if you have to know, find out privately. sheesh.

Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 3
No, no, I mean the reasoning behind it. See the thing is, the people here who know me from other games know I do tend to agonize about making mistakes (and not because of hurt feelings or anything like that, but because I don't like making mistakes). I believe Irre and RC are the only one who's seen me play Scum and Irre pointed out I did the same thing in that game - hand-wringing, hedging, etc. It's how I play, Town or Scum (apparently - I've only played Scum once).Bilirubin wrote:Yes. So now I'm in the situation of having been wrong about DP (for sure), and having suspicion about Gonzo for the wrong reason. Yet I I suspect you. I don't want to stick to that stubbornly and be wrong, but neither do I want to back away just because I made other mistakes.
It's the not-quite-answering thing. I keep going back to our exchange about Nightson, where I questioned how you saw his posts as Townish (until the end, oddly) and you said:
And,Yes. I made that judgment based on his pattern of voting.
Quite agree with the many folks who try to pattern match. I think that pattern matching is an advanced technique that many players aren't terribly good at because it takes a particular person to be effective, and its not easily taught. Folks should focus on objective scum tells until their games get solid.
And,You are missing my point, and seem to miss that some can read signal in the noise of early game.
(Said about Town Shizzle after voting for Town DP.)TBH Shizz is the most objectively scummy player in the game. We don't trust that because we've seen it time and time again, but think of this for a second: do you want end game to come down to a decision between Shizz and, say, Gonzo?
Can you see how I find it difficult to take the "advanced technique" and "read signal in the noise of early game" all that seriously? It all sounds like a bunch of bluster to me. I just have to decide if it's Town bluster or Scum bluster.
Finally, you never responded to this point I made:
Can you please respond to that now?I don't know. I'm still trying to put aside the fact that I don't like the way he talks to people. I think I'm also still seeing attempts to confuse with all sorts of accusations. He said a little while ago that I'm on his list of posters who are either "AWOL or hit and run," and having just re-read Day 2 I can't see that as anything but misrepresentation.

Bilirubin wrote:Yeah, diva is looking p town here. In the TR game, when she had a lot of votes on her, she asked "why you all voting on me?" instead of melting down. Putting her back into my town column.
DeanM on the other hand looks scummy in this game. Ksen looks the same as he did in the last game too. In before: but they are both voting for you!
Higgs is also quite scummy for the degree of involvement. I also note that FF and Aza were nearly lock step voting (1st and 2nd, alternating, on days 1 and 2 on Shizz Borealis was 3rd on that BW).
just so you know this was my post in the sign up thread:
"in/
but. i am going to be really busy. i might not post for long stretches and the catch up. I might have to skim threads if they get long and I might miss some stuff. I'm not going to explain myself when I pop in and out. So if you can't fucking deal with that then tell me now and I'm out. I get enough whining from my kids."
this is as involved as i can be because of rl stuff. otherwise I would agree that my lack of particpation is really off.
