Stargate SG1 - game thread

Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
After a reread of day one I am leaning town on irre, diva, FF, ksen, feck. Shizz looks like he's a pawn of scum, but I know we used him in the same manner as scum mates in the Road Warrior game, with great effect, but leaning town for now. Nightson I had as town until late in the day, when he started looking followy. What does the flavour say about the mode of death?
Leaning scum on zigman, higgs, DP.
Not enough data on Az (townish I guess), praying, gonzo (thought scummy early but then fell off radar), r.c. (did they ever post day one?), and me.

Now to read today again and add to the growing database.

I see the "seeing literally anything as a scum tell" is alive and well on rationalia.

Would you say you're confused?amok wrote:What's worse? Reading the thread and not posting anything because you feel you don't have anything of substance to offer yet, or posting stuff that seems too obvious to even mention? It's a dilemma, because my thoughts right now are just that it would be mind-boggling if both Irre and Mantis were Scum. There were other prospects with two votes on them (including me) at a point where a bandwagon wouldn't have been too suspicious, I think. I'm also going to look again at why I had a bad feeling about DP. It was mostly the inconsistancy of his statements. That's enough for a first day vote, but it's not good enough for the second day.

*sigh* you really are desperately bad at this. But, you hit a Shizzle factor of 2 this time.MattShizzle wrote:So you want a player to melt down and if he were a special to out. Interesting.

Interesting. This isn't exactly what you said yesterday, is it?Zigmen wrote:Just got back from dinner, and I never log out, so I always appear as if I'm watching.amok wrote:Diva, Bilirubin, Zigmen - are my questions worthy of answers? I need information.
In answer to your question, I don't think apology was glittery in and of itself. It was a basic apology. What I find glittery is any apology at all in that circumstance. Remember Diva's early games when she used to apologize a lot?
The apology seemed unnecessary and I see it as a reflection of guilt.
The apology seems a bit too glittery.
Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
No it's an old one... that scum often feel they have to comment when town has just taken a kick to the balls .MattShizzle wrote:I see the "seeing literally anything as a scum tell" is alive and well on rationalia.

Hmm.Zigmen wrote:This is my actual quote. But, surprisingly, not so much for the self-vote.
More so for apologizing that she broke Guapo's rule.
The apology seems a bit too glittery.
Upon rereading it, I can understand that you may think I meant the apology was glittery.
Should have read: "An apology seems a bit too glittery."
Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
Possibly suspicious WoT. I had forgotten you had predicted she would view town yesterday and basically started don wifom flowing. Downgrading you to neutral.divagreen wrote:I already answered this yesterday. Please read my posts. I voted for her so that Irre would be in the spotlight for her votes. I kept my vote on her so that she would be in the spotlight for her votes. Self-voting is as mayor is ballsy move, one that I did not think that scum Irre would make. I have played a couple of recent games with where her scumdar was pretty good and she is in a good timezone to keep up with last minute play, so if she were town, she would make a good candidate. I do not rule out possibilities as far as her being the don, I went with probabilities based on my experience with her and I was going with her not being scum.amok wrote:Diva, I'd like to ask you this question.
You voted Irre for Mayor/General and later said you think she'll turn up as Town of a Seer view, not matter what her alignment. So either Town or Don, right? If you have even the slightest suspicion that she's Don, what earthly reason would you have to keep your General vote on her, considering the tie-breaker, when there were 19 others to choose from?
I don't like this at all, but I'll await an answer.
1. One of the things to consider about last night, was the third vote on b. ternarius 20 minutes before nightfall when she knew she had the mayor vote. That is a hammer vote. It could be considered a bus in order to gain town cred. If you look on wiki Mafia, it says that there is a rule of thumb(?) that the third vote on a lynch is typically scum. That is what DP was referring to, with regards to self-voting and being the third on a lynch vote, such as in this response:
http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 2&start=30
It is often wrong as, like assuming a self-mayor vote is scum and that was his point.
But the thing is, keep her in the spotlight.
2. If she successfully gets me lynched, I will flip town. That will be something to consider, since she claims to have a good early read on me from previous games in which the reality shows that she does not. Unless you count calling me scummy in nearly every game, when I am not your team, where you are bound to be right some of the time, a good read.
Things to consider, although based on what I know of her, she is probably town. She is having a profoundly self-deluded and idiotic moment, at least with regards to me.
Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
Following an uncommented upon vote with another uncommented vote early in the day--but of course, he voted for you yesterday so he must be scum right? Hey, how did that work out for you in your last TR game when you were sure raven and I were scum for voting for you? 0 for 2 weren't you?MattShizzle wrote:I see the "seeing literally anything as a scum tell" is alive and well on rationalia.
Reverse cheerleading.
These tells even have names Matt.
Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
You've made a number of posts in which you went to lengths to tell us just how confusing everything seems to you. That is scummy bet hedging. Have you played mafia before?amok wrote:Ha!Feck wrote:Vote Diva ... for an Oscar
Thing is, every single thing Diva says makes sense to me, except keeping her General vote on someone who she (apparently) believes might be the Don. Watching votes, watching whatever - sure. But I really can't figure out how giving someone an extra half-vote, when you're not sure of them, makes any sense at all.
I didn't even vote for a General, because you all seemed like a bunch of Scum in reading that first-day thread. I'm not even feeling good about my DP vote anymore, because after reading those posts a few times, I sort of see where he's coming from. Sort of a Tell, but Tells are tricky.
Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
Add to these your "day one vote on me is a scum tell" trope, and your restating something oblivion said in the OP as if it were some insight, and the nonsense about "random voting" and you make yourself an easy lynch. If you do get lynched and turn out a town special, I'm not going to give a shit. Fix your game.Bilirubin wrote:Following an uncommented upon vote with another uncommented vote early in the day--but of course, he voted for you yesterday so he must be scum right? Re: Stargate SG1 Mafia - Day 2
I'll let amok answer your questions, but FYI she had her first game as scum on ratskept last week. She was quite good as scum, but in hindsight she did a bit too much hand-wringing over where she would set down her vote. And yes, hedging. She's in my unsure pile.Bilirubin wrote:You've made a number of posts in which you went to lengths to tell us just how confusing everything seems to you. That is scummy bet hedging.
