Stargate SG1 - game thread
You watched in surprise as the Stargate began slowly spinning, the chevrons lighting up like an eldrich combination lock. The huge blue shockwave poured out of the gate, followed by a rush of serpent-headed warriors. The fight was brief and violent - the soldiers on duty in the gate room were overwhelmed, though they inflicted heavy casualties on the intruders.
The rest have disappeared down the echoing corridors and cavernous storage rooms. You find serpent armor abandoned in various corners and hallways, and several personnel report that their quarters were broken into and assorted clothing removed. The invaders intend to take on protective coloration. Who knows if they are making their way upward and outward, or if they are hoping to return the way they came, by taking control of the Stargate.
Lockdown is ordered, and the personnel and guests visiting Stargate Command are trapped here until the last Goa'uld intruder is identified and dealt with. Or until Goa'uld reinforcements arrive and finally invade Earth as they have always intended.
Elect a General and choose someone to lynch.

##vote feck## let's get the serious danger out of the way first.
@@vote irre@@ self voting is usually scummy, let's get her mayored and viewed early, then spend days arguing about her being the don if she views town.

And those Zumwalts are already useless, they can be taken out with an ICBM.
The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
