Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
I'm making an issue out of this becuase b.tern is acting scummy as hell.
is she flailing? oh yeah we've seen tons of it.
revenge voting? yep both trying to lynch me and probably trying to kill me last night.
used her nk's for town? nope killed 4 townies to 1 scum so far, and she just admitted that dp was almost certainly scum so? why she no kill him herself?
successful views of the seer she teamed up with 1 out of 5, seriously athene you must be one of the all time worst seers to live to end game and have only cleared one person.
Also look at last night from the supposed final scum's perspective. He has a chance to kill the sk that claims to be hunting him AND kill the seer at the same time and he doesn't? I'm assuming mantis didn't protect the sk and if she did that point is moot, but she'll know. but a scum passing up a target that is that much of a danger to him, that would also make this day round the end of the game seems farfetched.

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
First off, we don't know her win condition, secondly the way she's played the last couple of days also points to a sole survivor win condition. I'm making an issue out of this because she's trying to hide behind being town aligned and her behavior says otherwise. She's playing for herself, not town.Athene wrote:u.t, if b.tern has a survivor win condition then it makes sense for her to want to stay alive. I'm surprised you are making an issue out of this.

we know she's not a sole survivor because of our win condition

and if b.tern does have a survivor win condition why is she able to take a lover? Why make a sk more powerful than normal if she has a forgiving win condition. Seems more likely to boost an sk's power when they have the really tough win condition doesn't it?

Er... since I killed r.c. last night, how would I have 'tried to kill you' last night? I've never heard of a game situation where when at first you don't succeed in your one night move because th target is protected, you get to choose somebody else.Uselesstwit wrote:I'm making an issue out of this becuase b.tern is acting scummy as hell.

Scum failed to kill whoever mantis protected last night.
Scum is aware that my win condition is compatible with theirs as well as with town's. it is in scum's interest to kill the last denizens, not the wandering indie. Why would they bother to target me now, near game end, when it is town they need eliminated to win?

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
assuming that aza didn't make a mistake and that b.tern isn't some sort of investigator. Her kills do seem to follow different kills used by the old ones to extract vengeance, for all we know she was sent by the gods to find and root out impurities in the cult. You seem trolley tracked on our win condition while ignoring b.tern's antitown play.Athene wrote:we know she's not a sole survivor because of our win condition

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
The only extra 'power' I've got is the threat of Athene's suicide if you lynch me. Which doesn't kick in until I'm dead and have lost.Uselesstwit wrote:and if b.tern does have a survivor win condition why is she able to take a lover? Your own win condition tells you my winning is compatible with town's, and compatible with scum up until the moment they kill me to get Athene. Therefore, my role is just slightly more compatible with town, as sane town is presumably more concerned about keeping Athene alive.

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
My 'anti-town play' has been due to mistakes on my part, not deliberate killing of cleared town players. Otherwise I'd have been killing outed town specials, for one thing.Uselesstwit wrote:assuming that aza didn't make a mistake and that b.tern isn't some sort of investigator. The Old Ones don't so much 'extract vengeance' as just enjoy killing in really horrible ways. Aza's been creative in describing my victims.

As for flavour, Nyarlathotep is most known for tormenting, driving insane, and killing humans, not the likes of the Innsmouth denizens.

b.tern that final point is interesting. Doesn't athene die with you when you die? Are you saying she's no longer town?

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
Because, for the love of Cthulhu, Athene can still be scum- killed without me being killed.
Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
That would mean I lied about her as I was the one that outed her, and in a game of 16 players there would be 5 scum - with 2 night kills.Uselesstwit wrote:and if she lied about her role? For all we know she is an investigator that made up a role that would fit the sk. As for the wifom you seem to be spinning about me, why would I be fighting it this hard as scum. I could have let athene convince me about ksen and then had a nk tonight.Mantisdreamz wrote:well yaksen wrote:Don't we only have her word for that?Mantisdreamz wrote:Well she did choose to be town compatible.
but - the thing is the wording of our town PM's. The fact that it did not say win when all threats have been eliminated - means that her win condition isn't to be the last man standing (along with Athene or whoever she recruited). So we've got to believe that her condition actually is, stay alive till the end.
Whether she chooses to align with scum or town at the end -- well, doesn't really matter. But, it seems like she's been working pretty well in town's favour right now
Also, she's got Athene our seer, linked to her as well. So there's that downfall to lynching her
I'm fixated on the win condition because it tells us what we need to do in order to win. I should think that would be obvious.

Interesting, a condescending personal attack, both ignores the points I made and might be trying to egg me on like feck did to diva on day one.Athene wrote:meltdowns are just not pretty, pull yourself together dear and try for a bit of dignity.Uselesstwit wrote:I'm making an issue out of this becuase b.tern is acting scummy as hell.

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 5
as oppoesed to the 4 scum and a sk with the ability to take a teamate with 2 total night kills you're favoring. Your theory still has five non town but with an additional penalty for town, making it even less balanced than your theory. And i'm not saying 5 scum, i'm saying that b.tern might fit that win condition somehow, I certainly don't think she's on the scum team. I think she fit's the mentor role perfectly right down to getting to choose a replacement if you die. That's not a town compatible role.Athene wrote:That would mean I lied about her as I was the one that outed her, and in a game of 16 players there would be 5 scum - with 2 night kills.Uselesstwit wrote:and if she lied about her role? I know you're sick of me saying this, but I keep coming back to our win condition, if all investigators are dead then we have won because that's what our win condition says we must do to win. We haven't won so there must still be an investigator.
