Yes, in Montana the limit is zero. You may not handle or carry a weapon while drinking or intoxicated. Sober carry only and no carry at all into bars.

In Colorado, it's illegal to be "intoxicated" while in possession of a firearm. There is no specific BAC limit, so there is no presumptive level at which it's illegal. This means that it's up to the discretion of the police for arrest and the DA for prosecution to find probable cause of "intoxication," which would most likely make reference to the DUI limits for driving at some point. But this allows the police to act if there is any physical evidence of intoxication at least to disarm and arrest.

It is legal to carry a concealed handgun into a bar or restaurant where alcohol is served, so long as the bearer does not become intoxicated. Thus, one can have a glass of wine or beer with dinner without breaking the law.

Well, so long as you have not been "adjudicated" to be insane, or have been involuntarily committed to a mental institution, the presumption is that you're free to peaceably exercise your RKBA rights, but that's a federal law, not just as state one.

The Garand has an internal 8-round magazine fed by en-bloc clip. It might have been an M1A, though every magazine I've ever seen for those has been straight. The Mini-14 resembles a scaled-down M1A and curved 30 round mags exist for it, that would be my guess.

We are talking the same gun, right? (perhaps it was the M1A, but it certainly wasn't a Mini-14)

Given that, it certainly had a "banana style" magazine, whether it was 20 or 30 rounds I'm not sure...
