I gather he might have cared, but doesn't really anymore. He can fill a club most places he goes though, which is something I'd be happy with. It isn't going to make him super, rich, but as the some other alt.country guy put it: "I don't have to wear my jeans tight." I've been hearing Robbie's music since '98 and this song came as a surprise to me, so I posted it immediately!

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
