The 2011 Aussie census is nearly upon us. I have been happily ticking the no religion box (hidden down the bottom) for the last 25 or so years, but it is obvious most non-religious people have been ticking the box of their baptism, schooling or parent's religion (and doing so for their kids too). The numbers are used by politicians to argue that as a majority religious and Christian country this should reflected in policy. Writing down fictitious religions as a joke is counter-productive and ultimately helps the religious agenda.
