I have seen children shitting themselves when one of those living statues suddenly moves!

This is extremely pleasing! :hehe:

Damn is that place still open? We used to get taken there for holidays as kids.

If they'd have left the remainder of the seafront intact like they've done the clock tower then Skegness would be a interesting place - it is still interesting although in another way. It is always nice to return to Lincoln after a day there...a reminder that Lincolnshire contains the worst and the best; from Newton to Thatcher there is a large distance not measured in miles.

I've seen them in every city I've been to since I can remember remembering things...though the most common are the ones just painted all gold or all silver, with some cheesy tuxedo on :teef:

Image

Edit: to answer the question, there is nothing woo or religious about them, they are pretty run-of-the-mill street performers :dunno:

They've been there all along but their lack of movement meant I passed them by without noticing. I'd hardly call that a street performance. What do they do for a encore? Stop breathing? :coffee:

There's a cool one in Cardiff who moves like clockwork if you throw money in his dish... he freaks the fuck out of the kids. :hehe:

That's very beautiful! I wonder how well she can stay still? That's not easy to do.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

It's unusual that they'd have the get up to look like a real statue, but those unmoving things are a kind of street entertainer that's far from new, even if they aren't very common either... here, they are seen as a variation of the mime, and had better have their stuff down pat, and it better be good, or they get stoned and cast in the river.
