Re: Starfeet Day 2
And I'm gonna go ahead and post it. I don't know if it's right or wrong here. This is the entire content of the PM I got from diva:
We will talk when the game's over.

We will talk when the game's over.

GM Announcement
The rule against PMing is a rule of the spirit of the game. It sets us apart from Ratskep Mafia, and other "Cabal" type games.
The rule is not designed so that you must cease unrelated discussions outside of the game.
But, when a player announces they PMed another player and suggests that it is godkillable, it is godkillable.
Was the PM on topic for the game? Not exactly, but it was game related and could have been used to build trust by having a content based on compassion over game-related activities.
I take my role as a GM seriously.
Some times my punishments are slight or nonexistent. Sometimes they have teeth.
I Saw Diva's PM as possibly altering the game dynamic, however innocently.
I trust the players here to understand the No PM Rule for what it is. It means that you cannot discuss the game outside of the game thread.
Grit's mistake in this game had a ripple effect across two games. He was godkilled in one of them.
As a GM, I need to draw a line somewhere. I draw that line at "content that refers to game activities and has a possibility to change game dynamics."
I say Diva's PM as meeting that standard.
Let me stress the word "possibility" in that definition, because I do not anyone trying to extrapolate other players' alignments based on my enforcement of the rule.
Diva has contacted me and says she agrees with my decision.
I'm sorry if this has upset the game or any of the players.
My goal is to provide you all with safe, fun, friendly field of play for you to enjoy.
It is not, nor will it be anarchy (no offense to anarchists who may be playing).
If you still feel I have made a mistake in my enforcement of the rules, as I've already stated, please voice your concerns over in the PG thread, where I am happy to discuss this topic at great length.
Please try to enjoy the remainder of the game, and I look forward to resuming normal gameplay.
Thank you.

I slept last night sorry I'll try not to let it happen againgib wrote:well i agree it looks genuine. possibly both town of course but if i had to jump now i would say the case against feck is stronger. When i've been scum with him he is constantly on the whiteboard (a bit like me) and making jokes like c'mon people, start prioritizing this game over your job and family! iow if he has all day to play mafia where has he been this gameoblivion wrote:interogative for gib: your thoughts about feck and uselesstwit? what do you think about their unaffectionated exchange today?

Re: Starfeet Day 2
does anyone have a spreadsheet where they can check if feck was town or scum the last time he made a good joke. I'd check my own records but they only go back like a year.

Re: Starfeet Day 2
To be fair to zig, I probably should have been godkilled (though if you mean "standard rules" for Mafia, you might consider at least linking to them in the game OP for n00bs, and no, I wasn't confused as to what they were), so taking out diva would seem a fair trade-off in that balance.

Re: Starfeet Day 2
Not exactly seriatem listing
townish:
gib - active, assertive scumhunting, correct regarding dennyb early in day. too soon to bus? appears most townish. if he's scum, I believe we are boned.
grit - his flail over the link looked like outraged town, but his posts so far today don't feel quite as engaged. possibly distracted by crazymaking stuff
bilirubin - I've repeatedly warned that he's a formidable scum player, but his game so far looks townish. I am concerned too much may have been read into the vanilla town comment, but it is of concern
unsure:
Uselesstwit - it's good to see him strongly pursuing a player after yesterday.
Mantisdreamz - she gets fosed for her work schedule, and I fear that may be unfolding in this game. On the other hand, the overall impression I have is somewhat sketchy due to lack of commitment to vote.
Adenosine - I suck at reading him. I think he's doing some good analysis, though. his early morning reaction to a couple of foses was somewhat off-key for rationalia, but fits with what I've observed at freethought-forum.
Uselesstwit - weighing glee over grit's link against today's more aggressive play. undecided.
least townish
ksen - lack of aggressive play. now that we know divagreen's alignment, his starting the bandwagon on her looks a little more problematic. bad place at bad time
Irretating - This morning I was thinking less scummy, particularly the tepid bandwagon hop on dennyb. I would expect scum deciding to bus him to do so a little more aggressively.
Feck - I feel like something's off in his game, but his scum game recently has been so smooth that it's difficult to say. maybe he belongs in the unsure group.
anxiety over tumultuousness, fear of thimblerigging, apprehensions about apocalyptical events, anger about perceived transgressions resignation about transformation, acceptance of transmogrification

Re: Starfeet Day 2
lol I listed Uselestwit twice. I wondered where the analysis had gone.
apocryphalistic in spades.

Re: Starfeet Day 2
Anyone remember the episode Spock's Brain? I only read the wiki but from what I can infer Spock's brain was controlled by the bad guys in that episode.
Re: Starfeet Day 2
I'm prepared to accept that Oblivion was Aza's mason partner. You'd have to be a blind fool not to have gotten this by now and She has all but outed as such. What I'd like to know is if they both got the same pm listing each other's win condition.
