OOPs: Wrong thread!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky

Re: I'm disapointed in us.
I don't disagree with you Rum...I would much rather see all the energy and exposure that people have put out mocking the rapture towards what I consider to be much more important issues, like separation of church and state stuff, or the recent declaration by that stupid study sanctioned by the Catholic church that the sexual abuse of children by priests was a result of the sexual revolution and the permissiveness of the 60's? I haven't heard much around here about that...
How do we feel when we are being mocked by the religious? Does that bring out a positive response in us? Probably not, so I think it's safe to say they probably react similarly.

I feel bad for the people and the families of those who were tricked by Camping. I hope none of them do anything drastic.

Totally disagree. The more mocking you do beforehand, and the attention you get about the mocking the better. It is a good way to condition people that religion leads to extreme cases of stupidity, and I think and hope it is a great way to devalue religion.maiforpeace wrote:

There's this very religious woman getting full-on A/D at a nursing home I volunteer at and I have shared with her grandson our atheistic beliefs. We both find the amount of religiosity that is supported in nursing homes rather distasteful. He has slowly been removing all her crucifixes from the room and replacing them with nature photos which she seems to enjoy much more.
