Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

So you saw fit to create three more threads on the topic and mention it in your opening post of another.Rum wrote:I was a bit fed up with the issue dominating the forum.

Yeah its a forum. I have started loads of threads to keep things moving and to participate as an involved and generally positive member. In fact recently after you took a pot shot at me for whatever petty reason it was another member PMed me to inform me that I had ( a few week ago now) started 1266 threads as opposed to your 31.Seraph wrote:So you saw fit to create three more threads on the topic and mention it in your opening post of another.Rum wrote:I was a bit fed up with the issue dominating the forum.

You don't get it, do you? The irony is not how many threads were started by you or me. The irony is that you complain about an issue dominating the forum. With this thread you have added three in relation to "the issue". I have added 0, so I guess you win.Rum wrote:Yeah its a forum. I consider this a test of the firebell - not the way you folks see it at all - like when a daft meerkat gives a false signal for a predator, the sensible meerkats all have a go at him but their responses have been tested. With atheists this is the correct level of attention, consider if it had been a asteroid strike on the way or a unprecedented economic collapse?

We battle over cheese vs. bacon, sprinkles vs.that obviously false label, just about anything. So taking the piss on this was just natural. What's disappointing to me is that some people thought we were taking this seriously and felt the need to scold us based on that misconception.

Yeah, this is my attitude as well. The more rapture-loons there are who are making this prediction, the quicker it will wither away.JimC wrote:This event has been one more, widely publicised example of the absurdity of religious delusion, and has probably nudged the zeitgeist in the western world just that little more in the direction of sceptical dismissal of all things religious...

The lunatic fringe of the religious decided to hand us a victory without asking us to do a damn thing. In the military that would be cause for a celebration.

The atheists are the fringe and lunatics have the field, so we should celebrate?Gawdzilla wrote:The lunatic fringe of the religious decided to hand us a victory without asking us to do a damn thing. In the military that would be cause for a celebration.

I'm disappointed no one has made a parody thread called, "I'm disappointed in Gus", yet.
