Anyway, you're taking things far too seriously. The article as written, hoax or not, was funny. And it's impossible not to feel like the scumbag got what he deserved, abuse of power or no, in this frustratingly litigious era of let-the-criminal-go-and-do-nothing-lest-he-sue-you.
I just thought the article was funny because of the way it was written. It was easy to laugh at, too, it because it seemed like an obvious fiction. Even if it were real, all of it were real, I think I'd still laugh at it because it's just a story to me, a funny story. That doesn't mean I really want Marines to act like that, or especially police to cover things up like that.
