I think Emily Browning took a good chunk of her artistic interpretation from Marilyn Manson but in an understated way.

I've never liked Marilyn Manson as an artist, but as his covers go, I think Tainted Love is pretty good.

I've been listening to http://somafm.com/covers/ for a week. Too many to even start.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I like iggypres for acoustic covers. There are a few gooduns.
I think his take on Nothing Else Matters is pretty decent.
