I'm aware that Serbia is not in the EU.

Serbs are OK. They don't like Muslims obviously but you can depend on their character otherwise.

I thought that disliking muslims and albanians was their only redeeming quality?

Not Caucasian? They should really all be loaded onto a Hercules or other transport aircraft and pushed out when over their country of origin. With £10 in their pocket and a parachute on their back.
None are refugees, all are economic migrants. We can fill ALL of Britain's needs with Poles and Serbs, Aussies and Kiwis.

I love it to bits. Where I grew up would have been a grim, grey place without the searing colours of thee salwar kameze, everything sparkled come summer. I still live somewhere very mixed and, just as a kid, I adore the smells of spices round teatime - it's a nasal feast. The food shops sell so much fresh stuff at market prices, and a 1000 things i've still yet to try.

The sunday carboot is a clash, mash, seething, flowing, living, thriving mix of languages, clothes, and errors, mine or someone else's.

I would have loved to travel more, not to look at temples or photograph a bored lion but to smell and feel other places. By some random stroke of luck I got born somewhere they keep flooding in.

Screw having it all as an island gated community - fuck that. Immigration is the single best thing for me about blighty.

I don't have a problem with immigration, but I don't think it should be uncontrolled. Anyone wanting to live here should, ideally, have skills we need and the will to work, especially during periods of high unemployment.

Might save money to invest in training and educating the people already here. Given the population density any disruption of food imports makes this country a Ukranian/North Korean famine type 'accident' waiting to happen.

I agree that more money has to invested, not just in education itself, but giving school leavers a varied and clear set of choices to ensure we get people in a variety of jobs, instead of trying to funnel every child towards university.

The Polish women Bloody dangerous ! they are all wandering around the place looking incredibly atractive and not at all like the locals. You are often tempted to smile or even say hello But don't ! their husbands look like they gave up cage fighting for a life with more prospects (in The Russian mafia ) .

Was watching the pakistani children trying to teach the Polish kids how to play cricket in our back garden last week while the local children were off up the other end of the road smashing bottles , scratching cars, getting pregnant and avoiding their junkie parents . As for the Poles taking our jobs ..Good I fucking hated mine it drove into a loony bin .

High quality vocational training with a way to siphon the brighter towards areas of technical expertise is the way forward. Trouble with this country is the class structure puts a stigma on getting your hands dirty. If the 'chattering classes' had a punch in the fiscal face things might improve?

Unfortunately, immigrants contribute billions a year in taxes and one third of NHS doctors got their qualification abroad. If we stopped immigration we'd be fucked.
