It wasn't a joke. :razzle:

I just believe if maths is taught properly and you have time, even someone who is practically brain dead can learn it. I blame the teachers.

If you can visualise something you are half way along to proving why it is true. Proofs are degree level stuff, and yet even a 12 year old can prove why sin (90o) = 1, hell its obvious if you look at the ratios to the angles and the circle. Even a moron can see why. :)

If I drew an equalateral triangle all with all 3 angles of 90o what would be the ratio between the length of the sides. Tada maths made easy.

That reminds me very little of the story about the maffs prof:

He was teaching class one day and said, "It should be obvious that..." and suddenly stopped. He stared at the chalkboard for a few minutes, then and started working furiously with pen and paper. After one-half hour of work he slams his pen down and say, "Yes! It IS obvious that..."

Nothing is obvious to the mathematically inclined. They bore themselves rigid with mathematical semantics. That's why I'm not studying maths at degree level, I can't honestly stomach mathmos and their maths obsession. :)

Science is where it is at.

that and the fact 90% of mathematicians I meet are total wankers, but maybe that's just me. They are so up themselves though, they are arrogant, ignorant and full of shit most of them. the 10% who weren't got over themselves at some point.

I don't know what it is but as soon as someone says I studied maths at university, we are supposed to care, and they know we are supposed to. I genuinely hate their attitude and their inability to think outside of maths.

Whenever you try and reason with the idiots they just retreat to axiom and refuse to budge, they're hopeless at philosophy they just want to sit there and have self contained nonsense as their religion, I have no time for people who can't think outside of the box. They will never do anything to change the world. They just want to talk their own religiously motivated shit at people, like anyone is meant to give a fuck for their sophistry.

I love maths but I hate most who study it passed A level, they are like doctors, they think they are special. It irritates me. And their blind acceptance of axioms just makes me weep. Fucking learn to think you dumbass, this is why I like Grigori Perilman so much, he wants nothing to do with them and their foxholes, he despises the mathematical community, and so he should. Good for him. Assholes who gave up creativity to just wax lyrical on assumptions are lame. The ones who aint are slowly sucked down to their level by dummards. If they do do anything original then they are worshipped as gods. Science is better it sets out to kill al its gods. Mathmos will say they want to disprove axioms but most are just creatively lazy and entrenched in a mindset. I cant think that way, and I wont think that way, that way lies death of my imagination. New maths is never going to happen all the while it's controlled by conservative idiots with a hard on for some axioms that don't matter. I genuinely think its holding science back, and that the only true mathematicians are applied these days, ie they apply it to reality not their pipe dreams. I just don't like people who are only logical and only concerned with their own egos.

I've never been so abused and patronised and talked down to by philosophical idiots, as I have since I studied maths. These people are just idiots with a talent for only one small thing in 90% of cases. They have to do maths, they are shit at everything that matters.

Even if he weren't already talking paranoid bollocks... hasn't he realised we've already conquered gravity lots of times?

Yeah, but they did a really good job. This was mostly because they hired Spielburg to make the fake footage, and he insisted on shooting on location.

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE FALSE ANTI-POPE!

It has long been established by previous REAL TRUE POPES that the heavenly bodies are maintained on their courses, not by some absurd scientific notion called "gravity", but by the MUSIC OF THE SPHERES!
the heavenly "music of the spheres" is heard in the Region of Concrete Thought,
There you have it from Wikipedia - who could doubt, unless their brain is not Concrete.
