What am I supposed to do with Catholics? We have megachurches*, Lutherans and Catholics out here in the suburbs. My daughter used to play volleyball with the Catholics. There was no Jewish or atheist volleyball available.

The bible is mostly a lie, it's interpretation is a fucking joke . It's moral lessons are dripping in blood and hypocrisy and that's just Genesis and Exodus ....
replacing 'mankind' with 'people' so it's lessons aren't sexist is so fucking stupid .

Let's see them "water down" (say) Sodom and Gomorrah, or Teh Flud.

The last verse of Psalm 137 ("Rivers of Babylon") is still rather violent:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?se ... ersion=NIV
Remember, LORD, what the Edomites did
on the day Jerusalem fell.
“Tear it down,” they cried,
“tear it down to its foundations!”
8 Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,
happy is the one who repays you
according to what you have done to us.
9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants
and dashes them against the rocks.

I don't see what the big deal is with this new one, there are already about 50 (or more) different versions in existence.
I do like this bit, though:

Get rid of all the "X begat Y" crap in the OT.
Condense the four gospels into one.
Get rid of at least 30 other books - no-one bothers with them anyway.
