Re: Timebomb Day 3
^^ fucked up the quote. here's my part of that post...
town recruiting is very game-unbalancing. the recruited player knows the whole scum team, and even if there is a gag order in effect it's very difficult not to give away inadvertant clues.
I've seen it done twice. In one game it wasn't a huge changer. the recruited player couldn't vote or tell town who the other scum were. they just counted as town for parity. The other time it was done, the recruited player became a sort of town-compatible indie, and she sold out her scum team.
Zigmen was in that game, and he was the town player responsible for the recruitment (though he didn't know he had the ability until it happened). I think he'd be very cautious about that sort of game mechanic.
Just a side thought regarding the recruitment thing ... how likely is it that town also has the ability to recruit?

Honestly ob what are the chances there isn't a seer? I mean really, with this setup how hosed would town be without at least a few clues to go on at some point in the game?

Re: Timebomb Day 3
what do you think of the vote dance last night? do you think any scum were party to it and what do you think of irre going for gonzo today even though we haven't had a chance to see if more pressure does anything to his postings?divagreen wrote:Fucking A, but y'alls brains are hard to follow and you are driving me crazy.
UT was suspect of Gonzo. Now he thinks Irre is suspect because she stuck with her vote on Gonzo.
I switched my vote to Bolero from Fuzzy based on a question asked by UT and then I did a crazy switcheroo dance and ended up on Mantis.
I have more, but I am keeping my trap shut for now.
I don't get the switch from MZ being a culprit for possibly revealing a codeword to being town. I am simply unable to make that leap.
Yes, my opinions have shifted, it happens, it'll probably happen several more times during this game. You on the other hand are starting to look a bit trolley tracked on me. One thing to keep in mind, even if you're sure that you've found a scum, you still have to look at everyone else, focusing on one player won't ever win a game you have to find the entire team.

Okay ... pretty sure we can dismiss that possibility then.oblivion wrote:^^ fucked up the quote. here's my part of that post...

I'm armed. I hope there's a seer UT, but for a 14 player game town apparently has/had a buttload of specials. A mass out would have had scum playing whack-a-mole for days.

Less with the recruiting thing. Feck, maybe. Anything else is going to fry your brain.
On the plus side, I have done all my reports with 65 minutes to spare.

Just catching up on the thread now... I wasn't able to get in all day. Don't know if this has been answered yet, but maybe scum can distribute points to several players? (I think someone might have mentioned that in Day1).oblivion wrote:mine was less than 4 also.Uselesstwit wrote:by some other amount, so either you and char were acted on by more than one person night one or scums power decreases over time. I agree it does feel like a strong town team, but without info it's a directionless town team. Somewhere we have got to get at least one solid lead otherwise we might as well get out a coin and start flipping for who is scum because town will tear itself apart.
Also Zigmen, what are you going to do about aza? Something has to be done soon, having that big a question mark on day four will be completely unfair.

Could be, but night one char went up 4, ob went up 4 bolero went up 1, I went down 2.Mantisdreamz wrote:Just catching up on the thread now... I wasn't able to get in all day. night 2 I went up less than 4, ob went up less than 4 and everyone else stayed the same, so we're still missing some points somewhere.

Where does the "buttload of specials" for town idea come from? AFAICT there's a doc and a vig (who's possibly been recruited) ... I've gotten an inkling of another one but won't point to where I got that from ... This hardly constitutes a "buttload".Uselesstwit wrote:I agree it does feel like a strong town team, but without info it's a directionless town team. Re: Timebomb Day 3
As much as this is going to annoy diva, I'm changing my position again. What do people think of having the seer view someone that is already armed that we're mostly sure is scum? If that person really is scum we'll find out all sorts of info because i'll be money that scum wouldn't have bussed their own in a nonreveal game. Thoughts?

Yes, I think there is scum play. I am loathe to go by numbers but it seems like it should, although I cannot think that it is ironic as to how scum laugh about this sort of shit on the scumboard.Uselesstwit wrote:what do you think of the vote dance last night? do you think any scum were party to it and what do you think of irre going for gonzo today even though we haven't had a chance to see if more pressure does anything to his postings?
Trolley-tracked? I switched my vote several times last night, not sure who to vote for now, and I am....trolleytracking? (I am only guessing what that means, but I bet I am right, and I will look it up before the night is over).Yes, my opinions have shifted, it happens, it'll probably happen several more times during this game. If you are asking whom I think look scummy at the mo...YOU, Feck, MZ, and the peripherals...Gib, Gonzo, Praying, Fuzzy and who else? Yes, Bolero. But listening to other people's arguments about her...maybe slightly less then I felt yesterday when I voted for her.
Currently suffers from Cassandra's curse.

Re: Timebomb Day 3
anyway i'm off to bed, and i'm urging caution about burying anyone else today. It kind of feels like we're rushing towards a cliff and I don't see that in towns best interest.
