Assuming AQ does exist, why do you think it's hard for them to get hold of surface to air missiles? Would it be because of a worldwide effort to keep them from getting those missiles, or is it because they are inherently stupid and incompetent criminals.

On the one hand, you say it's "not particularly hard" to get surface to air missiles, and on the other you claim that AQ can't get hold of them. If it's so easy to get surface to air missiles, then why wouldn't SOME group that hates the fuck out of the US get them and fire them?

The reality is, it is fairly hard to get those missiles without detection and use them to shoot down airliners. And, there are forces out there working to prevent just that activity.
