I should also say that the powers that be in the West have shackled people by making it clear that even the smallest infraction that gets you a criminal record will fuck your life up forever if you want to take part in their shoddy game for a few crumbs to keep you and your family going.

People are desperately fearful of getting any sort of mark on their criminal record, so anger is surpressed.

There are apparently going to be quite a lot of off-duty police officers openly joining in with this protest - and a whole load of lawyers protesting the proposed cuts to civil legal aid - so if there is trouble the results could be interesting to say the least.

And they are derided by the establishment press as either silly, idealistic youngsters or degenerate layabout dropouts with no "social responsibility" while the vast, grazing, stupified centre looks on with mildly irritated apathy. It's a subtle little set up.

So far it has been a 'phony war'. The cuts regime really kicks in with the new financial year on 1st April. That is when the free nurseries and libraries shut, when projects which keeps kids of the streets and youth crime a bit lower shut, when mental health charities for people who otherwise will find themselves sleeping rough lose their budgets, when the social workers lose their jobs, when preventative services supporting parents before they end up with their kids in the care system lose their funding. It is when your rubbish collection is likely to be reduced and when the pot holes in the roads will start staying there a few months longer before they are filled.

It is also when the government will see increasing manifestations of the anger out here as it sinks in what the reality of the so far phony cuts really is.
